SR shield unMuddable

Overheard a convo in the nexus of someone attempting to sell a sr shield but couldn't at Mudds. Noticed this years ago that the imaskari shield wasn't auctionable via Mudd, heard it was the sr attached to the item even though the appraisal on it amounts to just over 50k. Wondering if this was fixable.

Yeah would be very nice, if items with SR could be sold at Mudd again.

(and also wands of dimension door.)

If Mudd's appraisal is the culprit here - just remove that

SR items are appraised very high by the game, since Mudd gives you that number it leads some people to try selling some low SR items for high prices. Eventually the SR items were removed from the items that could be sold at the consignment shop because of that issue, since it's a newbie-friendly measure I don't think it's a good idea to remove it, sorry !

We could simply lower the value that SR has in the game's appraisal system, though it's a good chunk of work for little result.

Or... couldn't you just educate the masses as to what fair and equitable prices are on mudds. Or let the forces of economic price takers and price setters control the prices?
I'm sure people will understand after a while that their 14 SR items not selling for 50,000 coins is a sign that the market doesn't want to buy them, or that high a price.

With Electric Mayhem here.

There's many items that Mudd's advices prices wrongly for. IMO it shouldn't even give a price estimate. Characters should RP to find that out with others. There's plenty of merchant characters about to make this happen.

If the issue is with newbies unintentionally overcharging for SR items, could simply add a disclaimer in the readout prior to it. Something along the lines of 'Estimated price not representative of market demand'. On that point, the toolset price of items is rarely, if ever, representative of for how much, or how little, an item tends to be sold.
