A man clad in black robes, with a turban crowning his head and a bejeweled staff held in hand, pauses by the stall.

"Well met friend, well met. I see you've items for auction, yet no label for a minimum offer. Perhaps I may offer twenty-five thousand, for the White Robes, to see if that may spark some interest among the passersby? They're not quite my color, but I'm sure a dyer's workshop could be found to see that corrected."

((OoC: 25,000 gp introductory bid on White Robes.))

Chen replies to the man in black : "Your bid is suited, sir. I will put your name on the parchment."

A man by all appearances with knightly aspirations finds the exotic merchant, first observing them in detail considering the seller’s countenance, then finally speaking to an item placed at auction.

“My greetings to you—let us be blessed with equal justice from our actions, this day. I have felt a pull from an aura that exists around this ring you offer, and I shall make it my concern to acquire it, should a fair price be negotiated. Will you consider this, my offer of twenty thousand coins of gold?”

"My greetings, sir. I accept your offer as a bid. If no one bids higher than you after two days, with the help of Tymora, you will win the ring."

A wild-looking man carrying quite a few small axes comes by. He, too, casts his eyes on the ring of glory. "Sorry, fella. Gotta say that I'd pay more for this one. 30 bags, in fact!"

Having been spoken to by a wild-looking man, who immediately afterward spoke more on a higher offer than what Henryk had offered, the knight-errant turns and now addresses the higher bidder:

"Goodman...you say you will pay more, and have given a higher offer...but what I ask you is this: to what is the most highest you would pay?"

The knight-errant replies:

“Would it be better strategy to know ones limits in dealings, before entering, so that none may catch you off guard? A limit may be imposed and self-defining...or a choice.”

Henryk pauses for a moment to observe the man’s reaction in the moment, then continues:

“I am prepared to offer to the amount of fifty thousand coins of gold...but such a cost takes much away from other promises I have made, achievements I strive to enact for the benefit of the lesser blessed.

So now, goodman...you can take or leave this Ring, and know that your decision reverberates just beyond the basic purchase...as do I, Henryk of the Holy Judgement, accept that fairness is not a given in this life.”

Chen looks at the two in discussion for a moment, then say : "Shall we then say 30 bags for the wild man? Or 50 bags for the knight?" He shakes his head, chuckling, and adds : "I could sell the ring for 10 bags, but hey, what would I be doing? Bid 10 bags from myself?". He smirks.

A few days later, Chen brings an unread dusty tome : "I'd trade this one for another.", speaking to himself. He puts as parchment on the front table stating that.
