Stealing from Campfires

Unread post by Maecius »

Whoever is stealing from campfires in the Nexus, please stop. That's not the kind of behavior we want to see on this server. Stealing from characters is perfectly fine if you're roleplaying a thief -- but stealing from players will definitely get you banned if you're caught. So save yourself the pain of losing out on a game that you enjoy, and spare me the extra work load, by knocking it off.

For everyone else, this is a reminder that muling by campfire is the least safe way to mule gear. Not only can your items be swiped, but all it takes is a server reset or a crash and all of the items you stashed in that fire are gone.

The admins and DMs are not obligated to refund items lost in campfires. We have stated before that this is not the ideal way to transfer gear: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=51291. Throwing things into a fire in the game, just like in real life, is a good way to get rid of those items -- not to transfer them.

To transfer items, please find a friend, another player who just happens to be logging into the Nexus when you're needing to transfer things, or a DM who's free and willing to help you transfer gear. The nice thing about just asking someone in the Nexus, for example, is that you can write down their username and character name and then they can't "steal" from you. The DMs can make sure you get the items back if they refuse to return them. They can also supply you with an eyewitness if there is a server crash and something is lost in the process.
