Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Trying to hypothetically put together a build that ticks all of the following boxes:

Assassin 8
36AB with un-enchanted gear (After the -2 from dual wielding)
Epic Dodge
Epic Precision
11d6 Sneak Dice (Includes 4d6 in the assassin requirement so 7d6 more needed)
PTWF

Is this doable with the current build landscape?

Currently it has 35AB. You should easily be able to exchange some rouge lvls and remove sd for Assassin. But this baseline gives you a good view of the building possibilities within the area you want to work within.

Also if you haven't already, do try to makes some builds in the nwn2db.com builder and download JEGs Module to test them out IG.

More than doable in multiple ways, especially with having such broad requirements.

R16/A8/NWN3/IB3

AB: 24 (BAB) + 10 (DEX) + 1 (WF) + 4 (EB) + 1 (EP) -2 (PTWF) = 38 AB without any buffs

Sneak attacks: 8d6 (rogue) + 4d6 (assassin) + 2d6 (NWN) = 14d6

Bodyguard/Neverwinter Nine for 3 levels is a no-brainer in any sneak attack build that can spare the class/levels since it is the only way to get full sneak progression and high BAB. There are other options as well...

R16/A9/IB5

AB: 23 (BAB) + 10 (DEX) + 1 (WF) + 4 (EB) + 1 (EP) -2 (PTWF) = 37

Sneak attacks: 8d6 (rogue) + 5d6 (assassin) = 13d6

This is (or was before epic shops) the Rogue build. The extra AC from INT/IB synergizes well with Assassin.

A couple less obvious options

R19/M3/A8

AB: 22 (BAB) + 10 (DEX) + 1 (EP) + 4 (EB) -2 (PTWF) -2 (FoB) = 33 Below your minimum. However, having 1 extra sneak attack out of stealth can be considered to make the loss of AB to be acceptable. Instead of 4 sneak attacks out of stealth you are getting 5 and 2 of them are at highest BAB instead of 1...

Obviously can gain +1 AB stopping R at 16 and taking 3 levels of Bodyguard, but then you won't have HiPS until level 30.

Sneak attacks: 10d6 (rogue) + 4d6 (assassin) = 14d6

As stated, instead of 4 sneak attacks out of HiPS you get 5 thanks to bugged extra attack from Flurry of Blows.

R16/A8/GFK3/NWN3

AB: 24 (BAB) + 10 (DEX) + 1 (EP) + 4 (EB) -2 (PTWF) = 37

sneak attacks: 8d6 (rogue) + 4d6 (assassin) + 1d6 (GFK) + 2d6 (NWN) = 15d6

All of these can have epic dodge, epic precision, expose weakness and PTWF.

I could give likely a half dozen additional flavors, but point is it's not such a hard feat to accomplish...

So this is going to be difficult. I think one of the closest you can get is with rogue16/asasssin9/tempest5, but even that will fall short of the mark on the AB side.

The problem is getting assassin 8, epic dodge and high enough bab into the same build. Because epic dodge requires improved evasion and defensive roll.

You'd have more luck dropping assassin and going for shadowdancer in this.

R16/A8/DP3/T3

BAB 24 + 10 (DEX) +1 (EP) -2 (PTWF) + 1 (Tempest) + 1 (Rally the Crew) = 35

12d6 sneak dice

best I can think of... As DG says, getting Defensive Roll and Improved Evasion is very restrictive... Shadow Dancer or to a lesser extent Whirling Dervish can sub in, but that doesn't really help your AB and is a detriment to sneak dice.

Hm, would it help the hypothetical to include the proposed thief acrobat? High Bab, no sneak dice, imp evasion at 4.

not really... It does allow you to drop to R13 instead of 16, but the issue is you are still losing the BAB at R13 and going to 16 doesn't lose you anything further. There is still no high BAB that gets you Defensive Roll so you are still stuck at 24 BAB max...

Hmm guess we would need Scout or Thug or Daring Outlaw feat to pull it off.
