Morninglord of Lathander: Bond of Fatal Touch

Lathander's favored weapon is a light or heavy mace (also a morningstar) under 3E rules.

Bond of Fatal Touch only works with a bastard sword:
Bond of Fatal Touch

The Morninglord's devotion to Lathander has helped him to establish a certain supernatural link to Lathander's powerful weapon. These links manifest in the form of a pale green nimbus around a weapon, representing the ability of the Morninglord to increase the power of the weapon he wields. The ability lasts for 1 round each time it is used and can be invoked as a free action a number of times per day equal to the Morninglord 's charisma bonus (minimum 1). A Morninglord must decide to use the ability before attacking and if the attack misses that use is wasted. At 5th level the bond grants wielded weapons the ghost touch property. At 7th level weapons wielded by a Doomguide gain both ghost touch and undead bane properties. At 9th level wielded weapons gain the ghost touch, undead bane and disruption properties even if they are not bludgeoning weapons. The weapons normal abilities still applies.

Note: Bond of Fatal Touch only works with a Bastard Sword.
Is this a hard coded issue where you are unable to change which weapon Fatal Touch blesses (given that the class is based on Doomguide of Kelemvor)?

thats not even a bug or anything, ive used it plenty of times with a warhammer when i had my ML

it tends to not land if you use it first, but ive not had issues using it mid fight

if you are only looking for disrupt undead, then yes it also works, but good luck getting anything to fail it...

So if it works, why does the wiki say it only works with a bastard sword? I'm looking ahead on my build so I don't have it yet.

Morninglord is just Kelemvor's Doomguide rebranded. Some of the descriptions remain from the original PRC, uncorrected for 10 years!

Yeh and its pretty wonky from what i've experienced. If you're ever gonna roll a 1, it's when that's primed.
Most of its buffs are available either on long term buffs to weapons from spellbook.

Hey it shouldn't be Bond of Fatal Touch (The Fatal Touch is Kelemvor's bastard sword).

It is Bond of Dawnspeaker.

Seems like someone updated it in the tlk recently, but spelled it wrong.

- Bond of Dwanspeaker : The Morninglord's devotion has helped him to establish certain supernatural links. These links manifest in the form of a pale green nimbus around the weapon, representing the ability of a Morninglord to increase the power of the weapons he wields.

I updated the wiki page.

1. Added BGTSCC notes:
This class is essentially a renamed Doomguide from the base game. This is because in the server timeline Kelemvor does not yet exist, Myrkul holds Kelemvor's portfolio currently.

The Fatal Bond is Kelemvor's bastard sword. In this adaptation the Fatal Bond was changed to Lathander's weapon, the Dawnspeaker. However, all weapon restrictions were lifted. Any weapon can be used with Bond of Dawnspeaker.
2. Removed Bastard Sword notice.

3. Updated saves to correctly be high of Fort & Will. (Wiki and in-game both said/say high of Will only, which is not accurate.) Also, posted these in-game text errors here: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=17131&start=60#p857991

4. Changed "Bond of Fatal Touch" to "Bond of Dawnspeaker."

There could be more errors on the wiki, I'm not an expert on this class, but hopefully this resolves the immediate confusion.

ah if it was just a confusion thing then yea it works fine, i use to use it to solo the draco all the time

like i said, if you use it to start the fight it might not land, but afterwards it works fine

you can get the green aura to stick to your toon by using it to start an attack and stopping yourself, looks kinda cool depending on what you are wearing, and to get rid of it just use it again and finish the hit
