So do only evil characters cast Inspire Frenzy on his allies?

Unread post by blacksoft »

No really, how is inspire frenzy helpful? It is detrimental for most builds:

Most builds either have some strength items already (the +6 is negligible) or already using barbarian rage. Many builds are already getting extra attack from other sources and this doesn's stack. Many builds are casters and don't need those buffs.

During the frenzy, won't the -4 AC create automatic hits for many builds? And after the frenzy, you provide a short debuff to your friends so that they go slower and lose strength and dex...

If I wanted to punk my friends and allies, I would inspire frenzy at the most inopportune times - when they are bleeding out or being swarmed by enemies...etc

Is there a point to this ability?

The DEVs greatly enhanced the barbarian rages - why not do something similar with Frenzied Beserker?

Thanks.

I would like to see an added feature akin to Last Stand as in - the *** hit the fan, Inspire Frenzy:

and would add

"You and all party members gain (20d10*) temporary hit points for 2 rounds."

* can be a different number based on Inspire Frenzy 1,2,or 3.

At least providing a short health pool buff would provide some sort of offset to the incoming damage from -4 AC and the -6 HP per turn.

Anyway, that's just one idea....Maybe Damage reduction could be another...

Rage and ability bonuses from magic items should stack imo. Also, inspire frenzy could give a activatable ability like how polymorph gives shape change so that party members can choose to use it or not.
Keneki Koga- Fighting his inner devil. RETIRED
Emma Sxn'Tubxs- Suppressing her emotions.Theme!
Yuki- Probably sniffing you from a distance.
Varus Montell- Probably blowing himself up with a new bomb

Actually, I think your suggestion would neatly solve the problem. there already is an inherent limitation as in it only lasts 2 rounds, gives -4 AC, damages 12 hp, and debuffs for 2 rounds. The balance is already built in just swung the wrong way atm.
