Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Over the past year I have been struggling with this server. The lack of new content and the need to fix what are perceived bugs that only made the game playable have just out worn their welcome with me. For me the mechanical stuff was every bit as important as the RP and since I have no joy with my once in awhile solo sessions of being able to kill things due to fixing everything to the point of forcing grouping up in parties of 4 now I have lost my will to play here.

That and the only good can win in the end that has forced evil to side with good in some BS way has just over done it. There is little wiggle room for any player to impact a thing here and only the server message and line matters. The you can do it your own way just as long as it is done just how I say is a load of crap for me and I can not do it anymore. So I am out. Official declaration. BG has slowly been moving towards this for some time and for me the type of RP and players I see coming from here just do not give me hope for the future of this server at all. There is a point where you can over fix a thing and remove what made it fun for players and that has finally happened for me.

I am sorry to see you go Calodan but but perceptions are different for everyone. I have just recently gone from solely being a forum presence to returning on an old character and find the server delightful to play on both mechanically and through storytelling. I wish you the best and perhaps it is simply time for a break to recharge your batteries and enthusiasm. In any case hopefully the server will be here for a long time to come should you choose to return.

Ouch, man. Having fun shouldn't be frustrating. It isn't the first time I've seen a Player really put in time and energy and find themselves receiving very little in return. This has to do with the paradigm, but also with assumptions and expectations.

Nevertheless, the Server doesn't get better when Players with dedication leave. So, do what you have to do mano! But you really don't need to "burn all your bridges" with the Server and the Community!

I can relate, the PM I got today has irritated me deeply, I understand DM's following up on something but I have to worry about idiots reporting me for RP encounters apparently every time I even move on the server.

Truth be told I do not know how long I will be gone folks. My guild mates are begging me to stay but life is just hammering me right now beyond the game and then some very minor things here are just weighing on me lately.

I just do not have the ability to be partial like I should right now and normal things that do not bother me have been lately.

Life, as beautiful as it so often is, really doesn't like to pull its punches. If you've got things to handle outside of the game, it's definitely best to focus on those.

Taking a little time away from the server also tends to allow a person to reset their "annoyance levels," too, so that the little things that feel like they're burning you out right now might not be such a big deal in a few weeks or a few months. When you're investing yourself heavily into something day after day, whether it's your work or your hobby, it begins to wear on you. So a little time away to focus on the things that are important (that is, your real life things), and to reset your BG affection levels, might end up being all around good for you?

WOW who is that crazy guy posting this crap lately? Can I just claim I got hacked and we move on?

Recent developments have led me to at least finish my RP Arc with my current PC before ghosting.

My Bear warrior still bugged.. the class is the only reason I'm sti on the server.
