Background:

Grumalug hails from the High Forest and is of an Orcish tribe that worships Herne or Hurkgruum as they prefer to call him. They strive towards achieving balance as it is both divine and natural, however they are still Orcs and they remain among the many mortal peoples who often fail to achieve the things they aspire towards. He was born of these balanced aspirations during a time of tense peace and limited trade.

He was to be a Cleric of Hurkgruum because he was more insightful than his peers and because he was more inclined towards balance by nature of his blood. Simultaneously elevated to a prestigious caste yet also marginalized for being different, it was easy for him to pursue the divine over mortal concerns. There was something he always liked about the hunt: it was the one time everyone shut up. He could simply be and do. His primal intelligence and his bloodlust were both a boon here, and there was no other time when his two halves could join as such a functional whole. The hunt was the only time when everything was right.

It was Grumalug who foretold that Hurkgruum would bring the tribe a great opportunity: the Wild Hunt. Hurkgruum's spectral menagerie came but a few days later. Unlike many other mortals, the tribesmen saw this event as a great blessing rather than a threat to be avoided. When they heard the cacophony they eagerly chased after it into the night. It was not just a hunt, it was revelry.

When it ended Grumalug found himself alone at the Sword Coast. He spoke to some people outside of Baldur's Gate and learned that the ocean was very close to the west, which astonished him. He knew that those who indulged the Wild Hunt could end up far away but he'd never heard of anything like this. It seemed like it could take more than a lifetime to get home, unsure of what to do he prayed to Hurkgruum at midnight.

He received two directives
- Orc bloods will know of Hurkgruum
- Civilized mortals will know they too are animals in the natural order of things

Goals: Proselytize as Herne demands. Make sense of and build a life at the Sword Coast.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Storylines of interest to Druids will likely be of interest to this character as well.

(Edits to target audiences on both directives upon learning only Half Orcs and Gray Orcs can select Herne as a deity)
