Scrolls of Spells with List Selections

Unread post by SyntheticRose »

Hi! Activating scrolls of spells that have a list-based GUI selection, such as the Teleport spells or the Summon spells, incorrectly prompts multiple UMD checks. Once when you activate the scroll, which is expected and proper, but another one when you select your choice from the list -- your teleport location, or the creature you decide to summon. If either of those checks fails, the scroll is burnt for no effect, and if the spell in question has a material component, the improper second check failing also burns your material component cost.

This results in sometimes there being a problem where a character can successfully activate a (Greater) Teleport / Mirrorwalk / Shadow Walk, etc. spell, only to have the second check (that they shouldn't even have to make) possibly fail, if they're not at the required UMD to activate successfully on a natural 1.
