Combat Readiness

Unread post by Unastine »

Hi guys, I was wondering what you definitely bring with you when you are going to a combat based adventure? I would like to learn what would benefit for a melee based character. Be it a potion, wand, scroll, clickies etc.. Thanks!

My list of must haves as a rogue:

- Protection from Alignment (ie, budget mind spell immunity). There exists a helm that casts 3x a day with an hour duration.

- Improved Mage Armor wand.

- Death Ward wand.

- Heroism or Greater Heroism (wand or potion depending).

Anything else is a bonus and some stuff I like is...

- spiderskin
- true strike wand
- Superior Resistance scrolls

All combined I rarely need to worry about failed saves of the things rogues end up being vulnerable to.

Situational short term goodies include spell mantles, spell breaches, mirror images.

To bring along a Bard, an Arcane Caster, and a Cleric.

A ranged weapon - I can recommend the throwing axes in Baldur's gate, or a longbow with unlimited arrows for pulling enemies.

Theadric Trickshot - Hiatus - Hunting Yuan-Ti in Chult.
Zeke Slywit, Ebon Blade - Enjoying retirement in Luiren.
