DM Team Changes

Hello folks,

I have some news to share regarding changes to the DM team.

Firstly, I would like to announce the return of 3 full DMs: DM Key, DM Omega, and DM Solo!

Secondly, I would also like to announce that DM Ink will be stepping up to assist DM Soulcatcher as a Campaign Coordinator.

Thirdly, I would like to announce the creation of the Player Request Coordinator with DM Chant accepting the inaugural assignment. The Player Request Coordinator will be overseeing incoming requests as well as developing new structuring within the DM team to help increase response times for players.

So if you see these DMs in game, please wish them well and, particularly for our Coordinators, for taking on additional responsibility to serve the community.

In the coming weeks, we'll also likely be holding another round of DM recruitment, so if you've been considering putting in an application, there will be an opportunity shortly!

Happy gaming!

Great news, especially stepping up to create a new role managing the player requests! That sounds like a hell of an assignment, and one we (should) all appreciate. Thanks, Chant!

I am excited for the DMs returning as well, fun times ahead!

Welcome back to all the returning faces. 8-) Just couldn't stay away, could you?

Big thanks to the DMs who've stepped up to take on additional responsibility, too. It's not easy, but they're used to playing -- and winning -- on hard mode, these two.

So puts the dm's attention back on doing fourm work, when the focus was keeping the dm's in-game side focused. Seems like a revert to me. Sorry in advance just saying seems like a step back from what dm's said they are going to try and do and what they actually did. Why some dm approved class's went open to public, site bios no longer got rewarded ect.

I see where the confusion lays here. My apologies, I should have given more preamble so the connection was clear. These changes arise to address one of the same issues as the previous. The problems that the previous changes addressed were: 1) player response time, and 2) increasing the priority of in-game investment for DM time. This was primarily achieved by removing systems deemed noncritical to the DM mission (as summarized by Ariexedes above).

The current changes continue to address the first issue (player response time) as well as develop support for mission-critical supported systems. These are player requests and the metaplot/campaign. While it is true that the previous changes did prioritize in-game time spent by DMs, it was also hoped that it would increase response efficiency to other requests, which largely did not happen to HDM satisfaction (and player satisfaction). So now we are either developing a new position with a clear priority to enhance player time responsiveness as well as invest infrastructure in mission-critical supported systems.

Politics aside it is good news to see the DM team work together and put forward ideas to address some of the current issues. I think this is a step in the right direction for sure.

My only concern is DM Chant working on his own. I respect him hugely for standing up to the task, I just hope his going to be OK. Maybe make it a two man team? Would be a real shame if any of this results in burn out.
