Alright, so, it's never sat right with me that only good gods could have a militant arm of the priesthood (especially given the very militant nature of some of the other deities), and with Blackgaurd having been poorly implemented in NWN2, I'd like to suggest that Paladins be opened up to all Lawful Alignments.
The way I see it working is Thus. At first level a Paladin would choose between Evil or Good (neutral paladins could pick either, Good has to pick good, evil has to pick evil), then, using the same setup as Ranger with Paths, the Paladin is automatically given the specific feats at the correct levels (Smite Evil for Good, Smite Good for Evil, Lay on Hands for Good, Something like Touch of Pain for evil, etc).
That way you'd open the class to almost all deities and thus give the players more options.
