Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Hello community,

With the upcoming RCR, Ill be rerolling my monk into a dwarf to begin my story. Im really torn on which to go for as they each have a cool flair to them. The RP background and future I have planned will fit any of these with one or two small adjustments.

Hey Kai,
Why Heavy Armor in that Monk 26 / F 4 build? The AC is already so sky high outside of armor, and you could spend those 2 Feats on lots of other goodies.

The heavy armor feats are standing in for the combat focus line.

They look a bit low damage. How much does each of them do?

If I can remember how to calculate damage, it should be (roughly): 3d8 monk + 3 str + 2 Weapon Specialization + 2 Unarmed Mastery + 4 gloves + Fiery Fist + Blazing aura.

I do prefer survivability/tankiness over the damage.

Going with a lawful Dwarf, considering higher CON and the racial prereq. being met, if you want to get silly you can also take a look at a 16 Monk/4 Fighter/7 Dwarven Defender/3 Fist of the Forest split. One was posted by Hendrak a hot minute ago: http://nwn2db.com/build/?283840

I didn't pick that up from the build notes, Kai, but I see it now.

You pretty much can't go wrong with min 20 Monk Intuitive + 10 anything.

Good to know. I think I've settled on a happy medium between those builds. M20/F4/DC6 with the Combat Focus line and Blazing Aura

Do consider just going Monk 20 / DC 10. You'd get 2 more Bonus Feats on 8,10 Divine Champion—and Epic Feats at that—plus better saves.

As well as Divine Wrath of +5. However, you'd have to get your CHA up to 10, else you wouldn't get the base 5 rounds.

Are the base rounds for Divine Wrath? I did not think so according to the wiki: https://wiki.bgtscc.net/index.php?title=Divine_wrath.

You bring up a good point though. Would allow me to get Adamantine fists earlier too

It's 5 rounds for a CHA 10 toon, so only 3 round for CHA 6 dwarf (i would assume)

If you have a monks ring/belt - it's a good split, without i would prefer F4 for unarmed spez/mastery.

Thanks for the info. Ill change my stats to adjust

Oh - they altered divine wrath further.

Divine Wrath is now activated instantly and has a 5 minutes cooldown, its duration is equal to half the character's Divine Champion levels + Charisma modifier (capped at 10 rounds).

Ah okay, so regardless of charisma modifier (even if negative), its still a base of 30 seconds with 10 Divine champion
