How the heck does OOBI work?

I'm humbly asking that question both from a mechanical round-by-round and overall build perspective, meaning:

(1) How does an OOBI make the most of their attacks? I've played around with this class in JEGS and never managed to see how it shines. Can it "shine"?

(2) Does anyone have any OOBI builds to recommend? Seems like it could be a very fun RP class, but I'm not sure how to mix and match with other classes. Something with AA/Assassin mayhaps... or with Zen Archery, if that's even viable... sure seems like sneak damage would be a must.

Just trying to have some Saturday morning fun!

i think the damage starts at the 2nd round of your attacks.

i have seen 10 lvl of OoBI deals around 146-170 damage from far

Hi there,

Sorry to kinda necro this thread, but I'm a new players who's looking to play a Outdoorsman/Hunter/Archer type and I saw your post with the numbers above. It has been many years since I've played NWN2 and I cant recall if that is considered reasonable damage. I am more interested in RP, but I also don't want to be a hindrance to any group that may decide to bring on board for an adventure and want to be able to solo.

Thanks!

There have been problems with the class OOBI in the past. Anyone know if the PRCs buggs was ever fixed?

The feature seems to work like on 1/3 rounds ! That's weird.

This is the most significative feature of this prestige class, it's a waste if it does not work !

I am thinking to something : if the feature is techniquelly impossible to debug, it would be maybe simplier to replace it by a flat damage bonus to any range attack.
