Well people of BG its about that time...

This server has been like a second home to me, I have always felt welcome here and i have so many fond memories (I even met my awesome girlfriend here!) but like all things in life things change. I have found myself falling in to a trap of sorts.. Like a lot of people i use this as an escape from reality, When im here im not just another face in a crowd of people on the street, Im one of the hero's or villians (go team evil) who helps other like minded people to enjoy this unique dynamic we have here... the problem is and has been for a while that i have been using this as a way to avoid life.. and i no longer want to do that.

Its time for me to step away from the fantasy and work on the things that are important to me, I have so many things i want to do and i find myself time and time again being sidetracked by the lure of a world where i actually feel important and its unhealthy. So i have decided that this will be my farewell. You really are all a great bunch of people and i have been inspired time and time again by this world but it just doesn't make me as happy as it used to.

So thank you all for the fond memories.. I wish you all the best that life has to offer, Remember the things that are important to you, we have such little time on this world so spend it on the things that make us happy and who knows, maybe ill come back when i get my life sorted out a little better but until then i bid you all a fond farewell

not know who and what, sort of accidantley stumbling on this thing called persistent worlds, you showed me whats what and stuck around to carve out meaningful rp out of every situation.
Thank you for always making me feel welcome here, and teaching me how to make it my second home. And for all the great roleplay along the way!

I'm sceptical about how long it will last, to be honest, but we'll see.

Still, I approve what you voiced here, because it's actually true for every active and invested BG player around here — escapism at the expense of real life. Many of us spend many hours per day here when we're living through not the best times of our life, when our RL is grim or in ruins, or simply when we gave up. It's something common between many of us, but something very rarely spoken of, so I really say thank you for not being afraid to voice it, it takes some courage to admit it, especially publicly. Someday I think I'll leave a similar message here, but I've not yet reached that point.

Can't say we've been best buddies here or anything, but I really wish you best of luck in your RL, Wolf!

I don't say goodbye either- I know, in the end, the creative lure of RP will be a siren song and I will eventually make my way back- but you are absolutely right in everything you have said- the tales and stories and dynamics can become so much more engrossing than the daily life of "I get up, I go to work, I go to bed, I get up, and do it all over again" life. Friendships get made, stories are told, deeds are done and it's a siren's call that can quickly draw us out of having productive lives away from game, unless we're really good at time management and have high will saves. Moooost of us don't.

I hope this time away is just a refresh and recharge, and you are able to come back. And, well, if you don't come back, I hope that means your life has become an amazing adventure for you.

I'm both sad to see you go (hopefully just for now!), and stoked for what may be ahead of you, mate. Myself and my characters have found a friend in you and yours, I sometimes like to think; RP with you is a blast beyond what I have come to expect of the ordinary - to commiserate with other posts here, the server will not feel the same without you. You are a staple part of my own image of the community whose presence will be sorely missed.

The topic you touch on is something that has sat in my own thoughts for a while as well. The escapism is alluring, something away from a mediocre, boring life where tales are made every day, big or small. It's so easy to fall into. It's just as easy to become a crutch, often to the growing detriment of our real lives and relationships. I support your choices and reasons here, and wish you all the best with finding fulfillment and pride in your life.

I have found in my short time on this planet that the key to happiness is moderation in all things. Any time something becomes too extreme a part of your daily life, so that it's horning out the other important goals and priorities you've set for yourself, it's usually good to reassess things. I'm glad you're doing this.

Once you've found a better balance, I hope to see you here again!
