Question about Righteous smite...

This feat describes imbuing a weapon with holy radiance, as long as you have the spell prepared... blah blah blah. My question is: do fists count as weapons?

I want to try it out on my sacred fist, but I dunno if it'll work... at least without trying it, which means going to find stuff to punch, and then staring stupidly at the combat log, like I know how to interpret that thing.

Try it out - it's a lv7 spell (cleric). You will get the feat for free.

So... from what I can decipher, a clone of the character is spawned, and the first trio of attacks is from the clone.
The next two attacks are from the actual character.

The clone got +30/+30/+25 AB in the first flurry... ok.

In the second screenshot, and without righteous strike enabled, my character was getting +31/+31/+26 AB in the first flurry.
I didn't cast any other buffs after the first screenshot.

So, basically, it looks like I'm losing 1 AB by using this feat, and/or it doesn't work on unarmed characters... am I reading this right?

For kicks, I just tried out Blessed Strike, which is the Paladin/BG version. It worked when I used a weapon, but when I disarmed and had bracers with unarmed combat, it applied no bonus whatsoever.

Is your PC fighting unarmed with gloves, or bracers?

What is also odd, in my one-off test, is that when I utilized Blessed Strike, the AB bonus for the first flurry was 12, the second flurry it was 16. Weird. This was on a mob that FAILED the Will save. So technically for both flurries I should have seen a AB bonus of +15, but got +12/+16. Go figure!

Anyway, one needs a pretty high DC for this to be useful. With a low DC and a 60 second cooldown, it isn't used much, I'll tell ya that Snarfman.

My toon had some sonic bonus dmg gloves on, yep. I think we've confirmed that unarmed/gloves/bracers are a bust here.

These feats that spawn an invisible clone have always been wonky, not surprised you had some weird results, Steve

yep, even using stuff like pommel strike (the free feat everyone gets) or lunge tend to have inconsistent results. All the "actor spawning" spells and feats are pretty buggy, some to the player's benefit and others to the detriment. (I still occasionally see a sneak attack resulting from the actor spawning...

Can anyone try to explian me the mechanics of the spell? I tried everything and I only get a message: 'You don't sense any power feeding your spell".


I have the spell ready and I'm clicking from the feat icon, but I don't seem to get any reasults, either clicking on me, on the weapon, or on the enemy.

I'm a Favored Soul, so that's maybe what prevents me from getting any result. Any ideas?

Edit: Ok, ok, I didn't see the "Evocation [Good]", between brackets, so I think it might be not working because I'm.. slightly evil, you know.
