Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

New player, haven't played a persistent world server on NWN2 before so I don't really know what kind of builds that work well here.

I'm looking at making a drow divine caster of a deity from the Dark Seldarine. The type of divine caster I'm thinking is 'pilgrim,' that they are someone on a journey and are a bit of vagabond.

I don't think pure cleric will cut it since that sort of build is too suggestive of being too established in the clergy. War priest is interesting to dip into, but the character is the type to get by through guile in tight spots or running off when things get too hot. At the same time, they can fight since being a vagabond in the underdark kinda requires it but it isn't necessarily their greatest strength. I have no idea how a Favoured Soul would be looked upon in drow society.

But of foremost importance to the character is their 'quest' in achieving an understanding or kind of communion with their patron.

Starting in the UD is much more difficult for a new (NWN2) player, as there are only a few people active overall. So it can be quite lonely.

Divine caster? Do you want to focus on spells or on buffing yourself for melee prowess?

Spells. I'm also thinking of them as a sneaky person who can hide and lie, but foremost they'll be a caster.

Divine sneaks that aren't rangers (or paladins, although that would be weird in almost all cases) are difficult to make work to begin with, especially if you want HiPS, because your focus is on wisdom (or charisma for Favored soul)

If you want to focus on spellcasting as a divine caster, I'd suggest cleric12/hospitaler10/hierophant8 as a good starting point.
