A Sorcerer who wants to pick one (and only one) summoning spell for their 8th level slot, can choose either Greater Planar Binding or Summon Creature VIII. Which do you think is better and why?

GPB is easily the more versatile of the two (straight fighters, offensive spellcasters, defensive spellcasters, support spellcasters...). Additionally, it can be used to bind certain named outsiders if you can find a diamond and a true name from a Dusty Tome.
