Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Every time I have to reinstall NWN2 I come across an issue with animation stuttering. My game will appear to be running fine at high frame rate but when I move the whole world seems to stutter, and when I watch NPCs and players moving about their animations are very stuttery as well. It's enough to make me nauseated. I believe most people fix this by running the client extension, but I for one have never liked the client extension. I know I have found fixes for it in the past, not sure what they were but this is one I ran across today (probably the same one I've always used actually but.. I don't remember).

This fix also works for NWN2. Simply put the DLL file into your NWN2 directory (same place your NWN2 executable is located) and run the vcredist_x86.exe executable included, which will install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 x86 Redistributable. You probably already have it installed and if so it will simply say the install failed.

After that, you're fixed.

Rebooting your computer once in a while will fix this. It generally happens when your system uptime is too high.

Yea this bug is super annoying I've seen it myself without the CE. As I rarely ever restart my PC.

I, too, was against the CE, but I finally caved when CE exposed high DPI fonts and UI scaling.

That and the CE fixes a feature related to capping download speed of the game from the updater to that of your FPS, so increasing download speed of updates well worth it to me.
