Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Hi all,
I am a new player playing for a couple of days now. Played around with some builds and have a few questions.

Currently I am using this build: http://nwn2db.com/build/?305987 on my wizard. Build is great at clearing stuff, but if anything even looks me wrong ( that was not the case before lvl 13), I am dead, not even greater stone skin saves me when 5 gnolls spawn on top of me and all make a beeline for me. Would it be possible to create a summoner build that is pure caster DC, removing the priest part?

Also, is it better to go DC Cleric or Wizard for summoner?
As sun elfs +2 int is the same as aasimars +2 wiz, what would be a better offensive caster of the two?
How much I read on the forum a post from Steve, wrote that, Cleric / Thaumaturge / Dragonslayer / Hierophant would be a good build, and could take Sylvanas for water and animal domains.

In most games I prefer to play a tank but in dnd somehow I prefer a mage. Is there any good tank build except that dwarf build?

The Cleric / Thaumaturge / Dragonslayer / Hierophant combo does make for a good summoner.

Your posted Wizard build looks good on paper, but as you say, when a mob goes for your PC, it gets whacked hard. Why not have your PC spend lots of time invisible?

You could also tweak that build and sneak in HiPS and Palemaster, like a Wizard / Pale Master / Thaumaturge / Shadowdancer. Then your PC would be practically impossible to kill and just watch from the Shadows as Summons kill things. At least once you got HiPS that is.

It is difficult to be a high DC mage in two separate schools. Usually the end result is 24 DC + Spell Level. Your build managed 27 DC + SL, but as you point out, it is very squishy.

Though really, if playing a Arcane Caster, Mirror's then Displacement plus Shadow Shield and Premonition should make the PC pretty much unkillable unless dispelled. Which is you get CL 30, only a Mord's will do it.

STR 12
DEX 10
CON 10
INT 12
WIZ 20
CHA 14

Yes I could always buff more, but like this already 70% of my book is just buffs.
Im not a big fan of stealth and invisibility, as too many times I forget that with Invisibility spell cant open chests and puff, spell wasted.

Ill have a look at your wizard build and take try to take it just to one school.
