Appearance Kit real buggy...

Hi, I am reasonably new to this server, and I am having such a good time! Thank you Dev team!!!

I have a problem and I hope it can be fixed...

Whenever I use the Appearance Kit, I attempt to change colours of my armor, butt that doesn't work. Then It says "I am unable to move due to a status effect." And it takes my armor off me. I can't move, put the armor back on, or use the kit again.

I must log out and back in for everything to resume to normal.

This problem has also happened choosing different armor appearances. Also colouring is a big issue for me, cus personally i hate the colour of my armor...

Thank you for your time,
Marinda

I just found out that if I choose clothing/armor in the Appearance kit interface, it does the status effect thingy :( ...

Not all armor pieces are tintable, sadly. I've found that usually the first color option usually doesn't work, but the second and third will most of the time. I've also found that generally when the appearance changer removes your armor, it's because I've been clicking through the options too quickly. If I slow down, it doesn't happen.

You can exit the appearance changer through the dialog conversation in order to free yourself from the "unable to move due to status effects." That always works for me. You shouldn't need to exit the game to get back to normal.

There are three colors options, which correspond to the color on the tint map : red, green, blue

First color, red, is for the skin parts visible, so if the armor shows no skin there is usually no red color on the tint map and thus 1st color in appearance changer does nothing. Note that you can use red on parts that are not skin, but it give weird results with other parts and is not recommended and usually not done.

The colors from the tint map are usually pure color. Their RGB values are 255,0,0 for red, 0,255,0 for green and 0,0,255 for blue. You can use not pure color in the tint map, but it gives unpredictable results.

Next, the color you choose are mixed with the colors from the texture map : part red in the tint map are modified by your choice for color 1, parts green modified by your choice for colour 2 and parts blue by colour 3. The more "dark" the texture is, the less effect is visible from colouring : ideally the textures should be white and shades of grey to be more tintable but it's not the case.

So to resume :
- No colouring if no tint map
- No effect from colour 1, if no red on the tint map
- No much visible effects for parts that are "dark"

Look at part 3 from this tuto from Barrel of Monkeys :
