R O W A N

Basic Information
Name: Rowan Quinn
Age: Adult
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Occupation: Medic & Druid
Affiliation: The Ironwood Lodge, Temple of Chauntea
Social Class: Commoner
Appearance
A tall and scruffy gardener and farmhand with an athletic build. Her dark curls look as though they were haphazardly cut with a simple knife by her own hand, and the dirt of freshly tilled soil or the road often clings to her leathers and skin. When she speaks, a keen ear might hear that she hails from somewhere on the Moonshae Isles.
She carries several bags that are clearly marked for medicine and other tools of a healer's trade, making it obvious enough what she does for a living. Her face is sometimes anointed with blue paints or oils, and she wears an amulet with the Earthmother's sigil upon it.
Personality
Though not an outright pacifist, Rowan has an aversion to causing living things harm. This might have provided her with a gentle touch when dealing with people... but her upbringing as a farmhand has caused her value for the preservation of life to manifest with a firmer hand. After all, you can't very well let a horse push you around; you have to push back, and patients, especially adventurers, are no different. She's more than willing to scruff a person and drag them out of danger for their own good, their protests be damned.
Aside from all of that, Rowan tends to be warm; she may not be particularly refined or cultured, but she is a firm believer in extending hospitality to stranger and friend alike. She is prone to recklessness when it comes to risking her own hide to help another, in no small part thanks to her private idolization of knights and their heroic tales, and she's filled with boundless trust and optimism.
Background
Rowan grew up on a farmstead in the Moonshae Isles, and like most of the Ffolk, came to revere the natural world and the teachings of the Earthmother. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a squire to some valiant knight or another, but such goals were never quite achievable with her lot in life. She spent many years as a farmhand, working the soil alongside her family, until she was eventually apprenticed to a neighboring druid who taught her both magics and the art of mundane healing; she learned how to stitch a wound and wield a chirurgeon's blade, how to use plants and poultices and other tools of the natural world.
When it came time for her mentor to leave the Isles, she followed, spending a few more years under his tutelage before striking out as a journeyman in her own right. Life as a traveling medic eventually led her to Baldur's Gate and the surrounding regions, and she's since been spending time around the temple of Chauntea in Greenest, the familiar practices and rural scenery easing a little bit of her homesickness.
