I know there was a problem with the new hair cuts and some hats.
if you take old hair cuts it wont do it...
at least that can correct your problem temporarely

There are, and always have been, many head gear appearances that do not cover the hair styles, nor elven/half-elven ears!
Nothing like an iron helm with two fleshy tips pointing out the tops!
Or...GET A HAIR CUT YOU HIPPY!

To cut my hair, when it's been styled for many gold pieces, just to wear a hat! Preposterous!
