Crash Losses

I wasn't diligent enough with saving and that lesson has been learned. On 4/21 at roughly 7:30 pm EST the server crashed and I lost 4+ hours of progress. 12k exp and 14k gold. I had just finish selling after all my work and was about to take a break, 2k exp from level, but my bags were full. That's why I know how much I had and then how much was lost. I'm guessing that the character auto-saves upon leveling because when I logged back in I was right at the beginning of my level again. The loss could've been even worse. What's odd is that I lost all the items I had just sold, but I did not have the gold. Is inventory stored separately from the character file? I also lost two items I was wearing at the time. A natural AC necklace and a new decent bracer/gloves. I don't remember the stats on that one. Regardless, those have since been replaced with better. DM Foresight was notified of this at the time of occurrence.

The second crash, and this is the one that really bugs me because I had saved just before this crash. I had just bought new gloves off Harry Mudd, +4 attack, -1 charisma and immunity to magic missile. Pretty great. Then the server went down. This was not a crash, but rather a reset that was intentional. I did not see any warnings. This one was on 4/22 at around 5:35 pm EST. I am assuming it was intentional because with crashes the timer for looting chests resets, but when the server is reset intentionally the timers do not reset. In this instance none of my timers were reset. DM Ink was notified of this at the time of occurrence.

I'm a newer player to the server, so I don't have a lot of high level characters or great gear. These losses were pretty demoralizing. I would be appreciative for any compensation the DMs determine me worthy of, but particularly those rare gloves and the exp.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your items, and understand how frustrating an experience like this can be. Your best course of action would be to send a private message to the DM team, along with any screenshots you have of your inventory. Generally, the team does not compensate the loss of items from crashes, but you can make an appeal by messaging them directly.
