A couple Full Plate questions

It wasn't too long ago that I remember reading on the BG wiki about how Full Plate armor grants certain elemental resistances. This was a BG custom tweak. But now I can't seem to find where this info is stated, so not sure if it still applies. Can anyone lend some insight?

Also, if I want to use Mithral Full Plate--which appears to be classified as Medium Armor--do I need to take Heavy Armor Optimization or Medium Armor Optimization? Messing around in JEGS, it appears that Heavy Armor Optimization is the right choice.

The first part of your question is a free feat granted to the Fighter and Man at Arms, and maybe the Barbarian. At around level 6. Heavy armor gives you 20% elemental resistance, Medium and Light give less to none.

2nd one should be Medium, but I guess the game is bugged.

It’s called Armored Efficiency.

Paladins get it too.
