Hi All,

I've been searching the forum and haven't had any luck finding this, so apologies if I missed it:

Does Spell Focus: Conjuration (and it's upgrades) only affect those listed as summon slot creatures?
Or does it also affect summons in other slots (i.e. Animal Companion, Cohorts, Familiars etc)?
For reference, this is the page I was looking at, but the word "summon" appears in so many places and I can't tell which summons the spell focus will apply to

Animal Companions and Familiars are not Summons.

A little complicated to answer, i know it will effect the cohort provided by the Thaumaturge PRC, and it fits on a cohor slot. Familiar and animal companion should not benefit from it and does not get any use out of it in game.

AFAIK, anything summoned by a Conjuration spell will be improved by Conjuration focus feats. The Thaumaturge cohort is mechanically similar to (if at all distinguishable from) Planar Binding/Planar Ally, so it should be affected.

Similarly, anything summoned by a Necromancy spell should be improved by Necromancy focuses.
