Since you get 100% RCR up to level 10 (I think?)... what's the best/fastest build that you can come up with for Surface and UD?
Thanks!

Do you have equipment you can give yourself to make things go?

Please consider this an academic exercise only, and do not try to take advantage systems that were meant to help acclimate new player and encourage meaningful ends to characters' stories. It discourages the development team from making such accommodations if we know it might upset Lv 1-10 RP, for example.

Fighter 1-5, AK 6, EA 7-10. Earth genasi, 17strength/16dex/15con/whatever you want. Use a +3 strength item. Use the Bow of the Wintermoon. Hit hard, hit often, have ranged to not have to chase monsters around.

Along the same idea:
Strongheart Halfling.
Fighter 1 - 8, EA 9 - 10. 15 Str / 19 Dex / 13 Con. Use the Belt of Growth, a +3 dex item, and the Stunshot Sling with a +4 Heavy Shield. Pick up Ranged Weapon Mastery.
Why Slings? Because they are considered Thrown Weapons, which all have the Mighty property (aside from Shurikens).
Before Multishot that's 1d4 + 1 sonic + 1 piercing + 1 electrical + 1 fire/acid + 3 bullets + 4 strength + 1 Weapon Spec + 2 Ranged Mastery = 1d4 + 14.
AB won't be an issue either at 21 + 2 dex + 4 sling = 27 AB, or 19 with Multishot.

Go 60 damage per hit by level 10 (w/o crossbow)
Wood Elf - start at 20 strength, 18 dex
1-6 fighter (6th level pick up manyshot and improved rapid shot)
7-8 Annointed knight for will saves
9 Elemental Archer for +1 damage
10 - AK for +1 damage
Stunshot sling (1d4+4EB+1 piercing, +1 sonic, +1 electrical) + 1d6 elemental bullets + 3 enlarge spell + 8 (strength mod), + 4 weapon specialization and ranged mastery, + 1 elemental shot, + 1 anointed weapon = 30 average damage per hit -> 60 damage manyshotter
Be evil to eat the gibberling heart for easy +4 strength and +4 con per rest. Slot +4 dex.
23 AB should be enough. Use AB buff spells if need higher.
((The fighter 6 - AK - EA is my go-to for all low level ranged builds; its even more powerful not on this server since normally AK = 1d6 and EA = 1 damage per level. Using WOD you can even progress into assassin PRC and you are golden))

What is the purpose? CR 1-10 content for PvE is the most engaging and enjoyable on the server. You can pretty much go 1-10 only visiting each location once or twice (if you don't get to complete it all in the first go). Why would you want to speed through it with something you have literally no plans to ever RP so you can RCR in to something else? If nothing else those levels 1-10 will give you a better idea of where your weak spots are that you can potentially account for in higher levels.

As I am not the one that asked the question, but I assume that there are builds folks want to play with that just plain suck levels 1-10 so just want an easy way to "skip" that part of the process...granted I'm pretty sure that 1-10 RCR is built for new folks in mind rather than those that want to take advantage of the system.
There are most definitely a lot of nice questing available at those levels.

Can only pick up EA at level 9 due to BAB +8 requirement.

This makes it so tempting to just destroy the RCR altogether

Best to cure the disease than to take care of symptoms, don't you think ?

In truth, while just starting out in BGTSCC, I think I made use of the 1-10 RCR at least 6 times trying to figure things out or fix build mistakes I had made.
And was thankful to have that option.

If the purpose of the build is purely to be used as a vehicle for RCR into something else id say keep it simple, easy and just go:
10 fighter or
10 MaA
with able learner for UMD to use scrolls.
Melee or archer doesnt matter much, a matter of preferance.
Do not use ECL race since it will initially slow down advancement and xp gain.
Potion and scroll buffs, as much armor as you can manage and have at em.
Enjoy.
Why?
No need of spending extra time on buffing short duration spells or considering ab, hp or saves, the sole purpose of this vehicular being is the xp grind to 10 after all.
Will work on surface and in the Underdark.
However:
1. Have you considered fishing and/or chat xp?
More fun in being what you wanted to be from the start hey, and afaik chat xp is now unlimited.
2. The road matters more then the destination.
The challenge of passing through the rough levels for whatever build can be a reward unto itself.
Truly, Ive rarely enjoyed the first levels as much as I did with a int-based wizard carrying just a sword, still breezing through the underdark alone.
Granted, I know the place. But still. Cheap thrills, cheap thrills...
