Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

On the Wiki, Deadly Defense states:

...with any weapon to which the Weapon Finesse feat applies...

But what if you use a light weapon, such as a hand axe, and are a STR-based attacker (as in, not using Weapon Finesse)? Like, for example a Ranger STR TWF or a Bard/Dread Pirate STR TWF? While to unlock Dread Pirate the build needs the Weapon Finesse feat, many builds burn that feat and still go STR for added damage potential (I guess many Tempest builds as well).

Anyone confirm that Deadly Defense supports just Light Weapons, regardless of having the Weapon Finesse feat (or even having it but not using it because STR is higher)?

Deadly Defense works with any weapon for which Weapon Finesse also works, regardless of you actually taking advantage of Weapon Finesse or not.

Just to be sure, I tested it on two characters, who both had Combat Expertise and Deadly Defense. One of them also had Weapon Finesse, with higher Strength than Dexterity. For both characters Deadly Defense worked fine.
