Pillar of Light

Unread post by luminus »

In the True Light, His Light, every single being is extraordinary. Every single living organism is part.
We... all are part of the light, and through it everything is connected.

I know some would like to raise the point here that we are matter,
but we are actually energy whose vibration has been lowered enough to be perceptible to the senses.
Bodies and forms are nothing but dancing patterns and particles, pulsating as we seek our path in this existence.
Naturally, it strives for harmony and synergy, a road which is long and not without bumps, I admit.
Thankfully... not only the destination is important, but also the journey itself.
As well as the company...

Do not lose hope when once in a while things seem unfair.
What has to happen will happen, and that includes the positive things.
Dawn starts at midnight, and though it may seem slow, it will arrive.

Not just today, not just tomorrow.

Every day.

“Baby…?” He murmured as he turned around. Somehow he always has been able to feel her eyes upon him.

Those eyes… a pair of miraculous bits of alexandrite that were able to capture him and hold him intact. Light sat tightly only about her shape, like as if she was standing in a chamber of a tomb world. Outside of her nothing but complete darkness. Not even a hint of dawn, or even silver sparkles glinting from the cosmos.

He felt his smile slide away. It was as if he was looking at a fantastic candle which has been burning for too long, and which was now ready to collapse and be blown out.

No… Not this time.

“Baby…” He reached out for her while wearing happiness like a mask. He knew he should be grateful to behold her face once more, but he couldn’t. Not like this. To him it felt as if the entire universe was being pulverized, again. And the earth’s floor would be covered in dust no one else ever would be able to see.

She stood absolutely still and silent, like a statue. Her appearance sent a shudder down his spine. “No… please no…” He reached again. But his hand had done this before, done it all. So dark. Even his breath was like a shadow exhaling into nothingness.

But he sensed her there, out in the void. Heck, he would even be able to see her without opening his eyes. They had a long history together, born and raised in Waterdeep, playing on the streets, joined the City Guard, married. Something that always has been meant to be. Every single bit of it. Save for the last part.

“You and I, we are connected, and even though you no longer seem part of the material world, our bond will never change.” He murmured.

It was just so damn hard to forget the charcoal ruins of their last fragment of history. More than once he wished he could change the past.

He had closed his eyes briefly, and when he reopened them he saw her again like on that moment of farewell. His young wife stretched on the lid of the family tomb, beautiful but cold, her limbs and head immovable, in her ears pink diamond ear tops in the shape of hearts. Her favorite.

And his too...

The room felt just as empty as the space of this very moment. He would never see her again on any of the following mornings. His fist smashed down on an imaginary desk, refusing to believe and accept this was their destiny.

Then, he shook his head to himself and he stood very straight again.

“No… not now. But we will meet again.” He looked at the appearance which was slowly turning featureless, just like the previous times. This was the moment where the air in his lungs slowed down, his breath coming from his nostrils so faint that it could stir only the most flimsy splinters of life.

It was time to go back, back to the outside light.

She’s a sparkle, he murmured to himself. And one day a fire again.

The priest opened his eyes for real this time, and overhead dark clouds gathered. But he did not see the rain. To him the world was like an ocean of light...

He who stands in darkness claims his brother existing in the light hates him anyways.

That they may never receive forgiveness of their sins,
that they are even the essence -and- the outlines of all sin.

A moment of surrender on each side of this story,
giving up what they think should happen
without considering what actually can happen.

Life isn’t over. And even when it seems to get there,
then maybe wonder what you have lived for during.

Do not forget that darkness may not be dark to those residing within,
that night can be as bright as day,
that the Morninglord not only promises another dawn,
but that He also always comes with an escape plan.

Light… -always- shines out of darkness.
So if you have fellowship with them,
consider that every single moment of your own life
always has had a second chance as well.

That chance is called…
