Background

Zala has trained to become a Thayan Knight her entire life. She was pledged to serve Laila’s family. When Laila’s family was executed and Laila was exiled, Zala fled Thay with her.

Her training consisted mainly of conducting drills with the tower shield and longsword in close quarter combat. Some of her training partners were orcish soldiers in the Thayan army. She had just begun learning about military strategies when she was forced to flee Thay. Consequently, her training as a Thayan knight is incomplete for now. (Currently Thayan Knight 3; Thayan Knight 4 by level 29 and Thayan Knight 5 by level 30, at which point she will get her cool magical facial tattoo).

She has always been curious about Laila’s talent with the arcane. She has recently been studying the dark arts under Laila’s guidance (Blackguard spellbook level 1; spell-like ability Create Undead).


Goals

Zala desires to secure a position of great power for Laila.
For the time being, that desire is to see Laila take over the Temple of the All-Seeing Eyes.
She also wishes to build up the Temple for when Laila takes over.


Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts

She owes Grimhildr Ulvsdatter, Raven of War, of the Red Eagles, a favor for having saved Laila’s life after fighting the beholder in the gnoll caves.
