Mindflayer uses cone attack...

I encountered a Mindflayer while out and about. It did a considerable amount of damage (48 points) to a high-level character with good saves, so I looked through the Event Log and came across the entry - Mindflayer use cone attack... Character: Will save *success*: (7 + 42 = 49 vs. DC (mid-20s)) Mindflayer damages character: 48 (48 points Magical). I looked up Cone attack and couldn't find any spell I thought accurate. Can anyone point me to a source that describes a "cone attack" attributed to a Mindflayer?

Thank you and Cheers!

I think it is "Mind Blast"
https://nwn.fandom.com/wiki/Illithid_mind_blast (For the NWN1 comparison)

Thank you. Mind Blast appears reasonable. In the note section it states, "If a target is already stunned by this ability, it will be damaged instead. The damage is 1d6 magical damage for every 3 shifter levels if the caster is a shifter, and 1d6 magical damage for every 2 hit dice otherwise."

My character wasn't stunned, made the will save, and still took damage... not once, but twice. If the Mindflayer's cone attack is "Mind Blast" then the spell is bypassing its boolean logic (will save? stunned?) and defaulting to 1d6 magical damage for every ______ modifier.

Cheers!

I assume it was adjusted either for NWN2 or for BG. in 5e, Mind blast just does damage with a will VS stun, so it's not unreasonable.
