Is possible to add new language to existing list? Gurri, a language of Gur of Baldur's Gate, has reason to be on language list.

See: https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Gur

Okay thanks.

I believe we already have Chondathan, is there a reason this isn't satisfactory to use? : o

If you provide a list of Gurri words and their translations, yes.

Hey Omega,

I play Gur as well. Gurri does not exist on the server, but as a stand in, I've used "Halardrim" being the largest influence to the language. I've heard in the past, other players and characters have done much the same. Not Gurri, but it's served its purpose. To each their own, however! Happy gaming.

Jumping in to second Requiem, I've done the same in the past.

I think Steve played a Gur in the past (maybe still), he may offer insight i to what he's done.

I did once have a main Gur Character! I just settled for Chondathan, myself. Always did wish a Gurri option existed!

If you shoot over or post the file for Haladrim I'd be willing to tweak it to make it look and feel similar, since they are root-related in lore?

Thanks!

It is altogether possible to add Rashemi words to Halardrim AND Gurri:

https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki ... dictionary
Halardrim...It was once spoken in the northlands of Rashemen, and some of its words were still present in the Rashemi language. It was considered an ancient dialect of Rashemi.

Scholars observed that Halardrim had had a strong influence on Gurri, the patois of the nomadic Gurs,[1] who were generally believed to be of Rashemi descent.[4]

I take Aragrakh and Haladrim 2DA lines and mixmatch them to make a gurri language list, with extra words from Rashemi dictionary that have relation:

Gurri

A few things to consider:
  • Uppercase and lowercase characters should map to the same set of characters. For example: Either "a" should map to "e", or "A" should map to "M". "b" should map to "po", or "B" should map to "I", and so on.
  • The left side is what gets translated, while the right side is the translation. Furthermore, spaces are word delimiters, so no translations can be made for multiple-word combinations.
    • Rows 53, 54, 57, 58, 59, and 60 are right out.
    • Rows 55 and 56 could be reformulated as "shapeshifter cheznitznia" and "zombies dierneszkits".
    • "Dierneszkits" is possibly a singular, so "zombie". I'm guessing "zombies" would be "dierneszkitsi".
  • With the exception of the uppercase cipher (^A, ^B, etc.), dictionary entries cannot contain uppercase letters. You could do "shapeshifter Cheznitznia" (not that I'd agree with that decision in this context), but "Shapeshifter Cheznitznia" will never be picked up by the translator.

Unfortunately I took Chondathan on my Gur, so maybe if it becomes a real language I can get it switched out. Keep up the good work, all.
