New DM-PC RP Initiative

Hey All!
The DM Team and Server Staff in general are trying to experiment with some new initiatives this year and next year to improve various aspects of the server experience on the request of various players and staff. The end goal being to increase the sustainable enjoyment for all of the community's wonderful players and staff, both.
This particular initiative is something we floated a few years ago, but never tried, and credit to Cinnamon and a few other players for floating it again this year and to the DM Team and the Global Admins for wanting to take a risk on it and to DM SummerBreeze for recognizing there may be some renewed community traction for it.
What I'd like to offer as some DM initiated RP (but hopefully it takes a life of it's own among players, within reasonable constraints to be oversighted by me) is that whatever amount of PCs that want to participate can roll level 1 commoner toons of various basic "commoner" type backgrounds (well, versus the power of adventurer PCs and more powerful NPCs anyways!) and I will facilitate various minor NPC type missions and backgrounds for each of them to offer to other PCs to facilitate RP. These will be of the variety "Farmer Jae needs an escort to Beregost" "Tempus pilgrim needs directions to Baldur's Gate" or "Merchant Bob is selling non-magical clothes" or "Zhent merchant needs escort from Darkhold to Corm Orp or back" or "last of family line looking for lost family heirloom in dungeon X" or "Jane the sailor needs directions to the tavern" and with no special "off the player sheet" NPC powers assigned beyond what I give as a DM in this initiative. For this to work, players playing such commoners really need to not metagame or godmode beyond very basic assigned scopes to their commoner character template by me, so please cooperate as such or this initiative is not going to work as a trial well.
We'll also have all these commoner templates be humans to keep it simple to start. If this goals well, we may explore expanding it to an entire "everyday immersion" adding staff position that complements the DM Team (and if it goes poorly, we may just cancel the idea) down the road, but for now we want to experiment with it this way. If any players would be interested in this sort of RP immersion facilitating, please post here with your interest. If we get at least three players interested (no limit on the amount), I'll run this as a trial RP immersion program for the community starting next month. Please post by December 3 if interested. If you've always enjoyed creating minor immersion experiences and RP and missions for folks playerside, this is really something I would encourage you to try! If this works well, we hope that it adds sustained life to our world in game and to the immersion that it offers as potential, without having to have a DM in game every moment for that!
