How is the One Weapon Feat activated? Whenever I click on the feat's icon my logs always tell me *One Weapon Disabled*. Is it activated by default when I equip my weapon?

Are you only using one weapon (and no shield)? I use the feat regularly and haven't experienced this issue. It is like other activate-feats, I have it on my hot bar and click it to activate, click again to deactivate.

ON EDIT - I see that the feat now allows for all weapons. I think it used to be light/finessable weapons, which I use. Are you using something other than finessable? Maybe thats the issue. I can test with a different weapon next im on.

I have a PC using one weapon with a great sword with no problem. As long as a PC uses only one weapon, without any off-hands and shields, in my experience the feat should work.

I'm using a longbow. When I read the feat's description it didn't mention any such restrictions on longbows or ranged weapons.

I don't think it was ever intended for missile weapons. If it isn't mentioned in the wiki, it is most likely a wiki oversight.

I routinely activate/deactivate One Weapon because I do not always get the +1 Dodge AC bonus in spite of the combat style icon being present. I too get the message, "One Weapon Disabled" each time... Reactivating the feat on my Hotbar squares me away.

Reference whether this feat should work with a Bow... "If you are fighting with only one weapon, and carrying nothing in your off-hand, the One Weapon feat enables a combat style in which you narrow your profile and situationally attempt to dodge, deflect, and dish out attacks." This pretty much describes any archer I've seen.

Cheers!

If it isn't I'd like one of the Devs to hopefully clarify that. Thanks All.

This is the PnP feat, I think not omitting ranged weapons was an oversight.

There is no pnp version that I'm aware, what you linked is homebrew.

But yes, as far as I know One Weapon is meant to be a melee-only feat.

It's not intended to work with ranged weapons. I'll update the text to reflect it requires a melee weapon.

Another question about One Weapon. The feat description on the BG Wiki says:

You may perform an acrobatic dodge (+4 tumble, +1 dodge AC), a weaving assault (+d4 AB), insightful footwork (+2 dodge AC one round), a deflecting sweep (1 Deflection AC, +1 for every ten parry ranks), or an off-hand swap (+4 bluff), all these bonuses last 1 round.

I've been using the JEGS version that Val posted this past August. The One Weapon activation icon clearly pops up, and it also gives a message in my combat log that One Weapon has been activated. So that's all working well, at least in the latest JEGS mod.

But I'm wondering, for each of the five potential boons it grants, there's no indication of which one is activated for that round. Is it possible to make it so it gives a message in combat log for which is currently in effect? The five are listed as: Acrobatic Dodge, Weaving Assault, Insightful Footwork, Deflecting Sweep, or Off-Hand Swap. Just seems like part of the fun of this feat is actually knowing what kind of rolls/boons you're getting.

Last time I used it, I believe it did.
It doesn't anymore?

I might try it out later today, to check :)

Server-side it indicates which boon is given.

Swashbuckler performs an "Acrobatic dodge"

Swashbuckler performs an"Insightful step(sic?)"

and so on.

For Weaving assault, you actually get an animation too (an exaggerated cross-cut or some other cut depending on school/weapon).

Might be due to script differences in JEGS vs serverside?
