Summoning skills

Hello

being stranded on skill points, which skills do i need for dusty tomes and summoning? I am told various different ones so i would like which really are in it and which aren't. I do not need exact numbers, only which ones are neccesary and if i need to go heavy in them. Thanks

There is no official information on forums.
Maybe, if people gather and answer what they got, we can get a list.
I myself once passed DC 22 Lore:nature check for dusty tome to contain some lore on some creatures.

If I remember correctly, there are tomes written with DC checks for all the Lore: Skills we have on BGTSCC. It’s been a while since I wrote out the texts, but IG so far I’ve encountered a Lore: Religion and a Lore: Geography. The geography check was successful, but didn’t divulge a true name—which is to say and remind players that even though a dusty tome, it doesn’t guarantee having a name, it might just have simple lore (tricked ya! Hahaha!).

In particular, a PC needs Diplomacy to negotiate, and Lore: Planes can grant more information before calling the being to a gem (which supposedly can be helpful to gauge the success of the attempt).

What you need to know IS written on the Wiki.

Do i need to be able to decode tome myself for the name or can someone else to do it for me?

Someone can do it for you - but they will have seen any potential name at that point, so make sure it is one you trust.

Please also note that tomes are 1 attempt per cdkey, thus, if you failed, you still can sell it.

Will the tome say what kind of being it is, or do i just randomly try?

Like if my PC is LG and the name belongs to some demon, lol. Will i figure out upon summoning or know beforehand.

It carries no logic if tome containing name of a being did not say what being is it and for good aligned gods giving powers to their cleric to summon a demon, lol.
