Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

This is something that I've been interested in putting together for some time to aid in RP centered around trade, merchantry, crafting, etc. I am hopeful that with enough participation and information, we will end up with a sort of directory of the "who/what" in regards to this sort of RP.

THE INFORMATION HERE SHOULD BE SELF-SUPPLIED, AND ONLY WHAT WOULD BE 'COMMONLY KNOWN' IN-CHARACTER. SIMILAR TO AN RP POST, INCLUDE INFORMATION SOMEONE WITH ADEQUATE LORE-LOCAL WOULD BE ABLE TO OBTAIN, AND PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN/IF THE INFORMATION IS USED.

Groups like the Thayans, House Blackrose, Darius, and of course the fabulous Rocky Creek Trade Company (completely unbiased) all participate in RP arcs centered around trade and associated tasks. I would love more information on them, but I also know there are other group and individuals out there that would fit perfectly here, should they wish to be considered. Characters like Kreuger, Gyren Edwood, Wendy, Rupert, Rose, Lykander, Tiberius, Vivian, and James Merlin (only naming a few of the top of mind) and non-official guilds like Moire's Import, Derringer Mercantile, Scarlet City Mercantile, etc.

While this is an OOC request for participation, it should be centered in RP. RP leading to a reputation can be hard for smaller groups or individuals, and hard to maintain across time zones. So here is the plan..

Has aligned closely with Queen Dharva in Greenest, and has aided and supported multiple charitable endeavors. Known to hire hunters, fisherman, and others for ad hoc work as needed.

RP Hook, Rumor, or other IC information: The owner of the book store is Gyren Edwood, who is currently a templar serving the Song of the Morning in Beregost. As such, the book store does not serve anyone who is openly known to be of evil nature. The owner is an avid collector of books, dusty tomes (opened or unopened), and rare scrolls. Characters are welcome to bring in books, dusty tomes, scrolls to sell or exchange with titles in my shelves.

Trade Goods: Self-produced goods include Fish, Dyes, Lamp Oil, and Silk, all locally produced in Baldur's Gate. These goods are exported and traded for a large variety of other goods including Lumber, Stone, Leather, Liquor, Foreign Silk, Foodstuffs, Glue, Spellcasting components and reagents, Jewelry, and Perfumes.

Crafted Goods: Wands: Divine, Arcane, Bard. Scrolls: Divine, Arcane, Bard. Elixirs: Arcane, some Divine. We have a blacksmith and engineer on staff that will roleplay the creation of custom goods to order in the workshop.

Special Focus: The House operates a popular tavern and performance hall, the Lewd Lyre, and is always willing to pay for performances of any kind (Dance, song, poem, etc) as well as looking for waitstaff and cooks. Appraisal services available by request at this location, as well.

RP Hook, Rumor, or other IC information: Operates trade routes out of Baldur's Gate, exporting and importing a large variety of goods through trade with Elturel, Berdusk, Sembia, Irieabor and Waterdeep, as well as a number of smaller shipments by request. Has a good relationship with the Grand Dukes and a presence in Duchal Court. Often hires adventurers to do contract work without requiring them to join the House proper. Approximately 20% of the House's daily bounty from their fishing vessels is distributed for charitable purposes to the needy.

When not under contract or out of region, the transient traiteur can be found offering food, sanctuary, and service beside various trade roads. The proprietor is also known to arbitrate mercantile negotiations and to have interest in cursed or tainted articles.

Special Focus: Wendi is a skilled haggler. Although she is too brusque and impatient to ever be considered diplomatic, her knowledge of the arcane helps her negotiate favorable prices in many dealings.
RP Hook, Rumor, or other IC information: Wendi is not easily impressed, nor does she care for frivolity or fancy airs. She almost always prefers to get right to business. She is semi-retired now, and does not seem interested in expanding her business. As such, it might not be easy to obtain her services. She has been known to take on two or three apprentices in the past, but she is loathe to be seen as soft.

Affiliation (if Individual): Officially one of the most trusted unofficial companies about, Waukeen priestess.

Contact Info: (pm if ooc) Usually through contacts at various market spots (Baldur's Gate, FAI, Beregost, Doron and on occassion Soubar).

Base of Operations: The corporate headquarters appears to be an address in Baldur's Gate, not Doron anymore.

Trade Goods: Mostly equipment for adventurers, fortune hunters, soldiers and alike. Aside of that she seems to facilitate transport between Baldur's and Marsember with a strong focus on exotic spices. The rest is classified (discrete transports). Service as mediator.

Crafted Goods: bombs, wands, potions, elixirs (produced by one of her freelancers-contractors).

Special Focus: Highly diplomatic, has a weakness for art and fashion (may deal in works of art and stuff related), sometimes works with hired souls.
