Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

I'm looking for someone skilled in the shadow adept prc class to assist me in building a PVP viable drow lothite priestes.

My thought was cleric, shadow adept, shadow dancer build with a focus on spells from a hipsing location. Is this viable and how can I make it more so.

What feats might I get to optimize the use of the shadow adept class.

Shadow Adept requires Shar as your god.

Shadow Adept is a DC build class. Shadow Dancer requires 19 dexterity to take. Clerics can be DC or buff and bash. Mixing all three together is doable, with some level of power.

Necromancy DC 31+spell = 10base+10wisdom+1SCP+3ESF+2SA+5CL

Zkenic is completely right. I would only add that necromancy is one of three main schools Shadow Adept makes better. The other two being Enchantment and Illusion. Keep in mind your Transmutation and Evocation will be equally less powerful. I'm only saying this because if you're going towards that Shadow Dancer, you might want to mix it with Illusion for RP. Altough Necromancy would be mechanically stronger.

It's worth pointing out that Hierophant was used here (very nicely) to bump up Caster Level. This results in your spells being stronger and lasting longer, but mainly it provides better DC - coming back to the point of Shadow Adept really just being a DC caster class.

Worth mentioning you want to milk that Spot skill from Shadow Dancer. Also, Shadow Adept does get Hide as a class skill, so this should make things little easier without Able Learner.

Overall, it's a solid build idea and you can't go wrong following Zkenic's advice.

Also Shar's domains lets you get solipsism and weird at 7/8/9th slots, if you want to focus on illusion. I did necromancy focus for two reasons. 1 - better DC or die spells, sooooo many monsters on BG have immunity to mind effects. 2 - makes your undead summons stronger.

Yes, very good pointers. I'd wish to see less mind control immunity or a way to remove it, but it is how it is. Also, it might be worth pointing out the synergy between Animate Dead and Desecrate. I don't know if there are any other spells that benefit from that, but I'd sure love the idea of an invisible and stealthy cleric that throws Desecrate on the ground before filling that cursed land with his undead summons all the while being hidden by an illusion himself.

Unlikely. The Shadow Weave is a very specific thing and something Shar is extremely protective of, especially at this point in the timeline of Faerûn.

What about a priestess of Shar who later converts? I can rp it.

If this meets with DM aproval I will make the character. A priestess of shar who is later converted to Lolth and steels the knowledge of the shadow weave like the treacherous thief she really is. Lolth Tlu Sharr! Then Malla Lolth!

By the way what is that metamagic feat that uses shadow magic or negative energy that is really good? I didn't see that in the build....

Rhifox is right. II would imagine that if someone betrays Shar they won't have access to her weave, therefore cannot be a Shadow Adept. But the final say would be DM's, I think.

It’s similar to all the people to start with GOND to make Gondsmen then swap gods later on.

Thou having a Shar Priestess infiltrate a Lloth clergy makes more sense as at this time most of Shar priests where ninja clerics in other religions undermining that god and propping up Shar’s wishes.

You'll also be smit'ed by Shar herself or her agents will find you and quickly and swiftly remove you but you already knew that about a lore that everyone is telling you a Shadow adept of SHAR is.

Course you could always talk to the Shar guild about her lore. but alas another shining example of open app class with heavy lore, being used for pvp dc's

You cant steal shadow weave from Shar, she can simply snap her fingers and goodbye. no more powers, not to mention you would have every Sharan on the coast hunt you down and end you permanently.

This kind of stupid shit is the reason why the class should of stayed Application only.

You have to take the "True Believer" feat for Shadow Adept, which basically means you're devoted to Shar totally. As others have mentioned, Shar won't tolerate you converting to another faith - she takes the Shadow Weave very seriously. That said, I'm not sure the rules behind "faking" being a Lolthite in RP.
