Allow resting in the nexus for the time being.

It would greatly improve the QOL with the current server instability.
I've noticed that a large amount of my RP/adventure trips end half away as the server crashes.
The server crashes 1 hour in and the party now has no spells/no summons/no wards and there is no resting area available.
Even with a rest it will be difficult to continue as you port back into a hostile area, but with out resting it is suicidal.
It's a bit of a shame as it tends to ruin the amostphere and the RP going on.
So could the team allow resting in the nexus until the RCR 100% ends please.

The Nexus can be one of the most volatile areas in the module when it comes to server stability, so that is one reason why resting is disabled.

Adding a NPC that would force a rest could be an option or an idea I haven't thought about yet.
It would be nice to be able to continue the RP instead of in the middle of a dungeon /crash and no option to port back with the group without getting killed.

Seeing as resting saves your character's location, this seems a bit counterproductive to the reason you want it? If after a crash, you want to rest in the nexus to get your spells back before going back into the dungeon where you were before the crash (or indeed reset), you'll just end up having your last saved location as the nexus instead.

The nexus is often being used for chatter, what it should be used for what it is used for are two different things.
That's not the point of this post, as the issue I'm trying to address is how server crashes lead to nullifying rp trips that aren't quick loot runs.
Resting in the Nexus would seem to be the quickest way to solve it while we have server problems.
It's meant as a temporarily band-aid fix until the servers stop crashing, from there a lorn term solution would be welcome.

unlikely to happen, the server was very volatile back in the day and it was not an issue with not being able to rest before going back in game
if you are with a party you wait for your party in the nexus and you figure out if you want to go were you were or pick some safe location to go to, if your argument is that not being able to rest affects rp then its a moot point because the crash already did that
if you are going back to a hostile area just use invis or ethereal, both of which can be acquired on non UMD required items - invis potions and ethereal cloaks

Its not really supposed to be used for this at all, and DMs do tell players to flee the Nexus when they see crowds doing such.
The Nexus is only a login portal, and a vendor to do finishing touches/amendments to your character.

+1, see groups in there all the time, also has spell casting been returned to the nexus? Can that be removed again? For the above reasons.

I don't think you understand the argument here, honestly it's just common sense.
If a server crashes, you can teleport back and continue the RP simple as that and nothing affects the RP.
If you're rping an adventure in a dungeon and the server crashes, you pretty much die on spawning back as your party has no buffs/no summons and spells.
Quite some mobs see through invis and 'just using ethereal' isn't all that common either, thus getting back to a rest area without spells tend to end up bad.
If you set out for a RP run that takes 1.5 hour + it feels demotivating when this happens. The scenario and conversations the characters have ,work in this specific setting. Allowing a rest will even the play field slightly, even though you're still in a disadvantage.
As said, it is a band-aid fix until the servers are stable, I've no idea what would be a long term solution for it.

ive been in the situation plenty, as i said, the server was super unstable back in the day and it was pretty common to have to make those long treks back to where you were
and thats back before you could set home locations and have everyone meet in the same spot closer than having to start all the way back at the farmlands
the nexus is not for extended use, as has been already pointed out, it was even turned into a no magic zone to help get rid of people who would just sit there casting spells after a reset/crash
so no, do not expect resting to happen there any time soon
use invis, ethereal, home locations or some other safe spawn or risk dying going back to a hostile area, its not that complicated
