Cloudpeaks Lich

The lich in one of the caves in the Cloudpeaks has a glitched AI, as he nearly always drops a bigby on the player, then hastes, goes ethereal and just loafs about doing nothing whilst you safely steal all of his stuff.
In about one time out of twenty, he will actually keep pelting the player with attack spells, so the attack routine seems to be there, just being hampered by some incorrect bit of code.

Sadly, AI is a hard thing and it isn't possible to fix it. I will ask Devs to check if they agree to remove etherealness from it so it doesn't go idle.

I've never experienced this behavior from that lich , in fact it has killed me a few times on different characters.

I've had it bigsby me regularly for a while, as well as etherial, but then it usually throws more spells my way afterwards. But that was ages ago, I don't fight it often anymore, more trouble than it's worth IMO.

Well, i hope when devs have time, they could adjust lich a bit.
I myself met that "doing nothing" very often, even in recent past.

The lich may be programmed to react to certain metagamed traits of the PCs fighting it, which might explain its inconsistent behaviour. Some character traits, or perhaps their absence, may incorrectly cause it to become unresponsive. I speak from the point of view of a caster who tries to damage the lich with area spells to bait it into attacking me, but he just keeps stacking EI types on top of each other without breaking Greater Sanctuary/Etherealness, so I just end up ignoring him and looting his treasure.

Do you have Evasion and a high reflex?
The lich may not cast its reflex spells if that's the only target available, maybe.

I don't have evasion, but I don't remember what that character's reflex save is. It's probably high-ish.

Lich has had some fixes recently, i think we will see how he behaves in next patch.
He was stripped off few spells and was given few others to see how he interacts with players.

Should be live now. Please report again if he's still acting dumb.
