BGTSCCs JEGs Test Server

Perhaps unbeknownst to many of our Community, the great and powerful Arch Wizard Le Valefort has setup a Test Server in order for all us commoners to test our Dream Builds using *almost* all the available Content that one finds on the actual Baldur's Gate Server 1 & 2.
You may also notice that the Server has been added to the counter above in the Forum Header!!!
To utilize this Test Server, one need to Direct Connect to it. To do so, open up NWN2 and Selct "Multiplayer," then "Direct Connect," then in the Server IP Address field, type in "51.222.244.167:5123.
Text PCs are saved to a Local directory. Any issues or questions, please post here.
SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER USING JEGs:
- In order to unlock some PrCs, one must gain the requirements, then log out/log in with the PC, in order for the Server to grant the necessary feat to finally take the PrC (for example: HIerophant).
- Some PrCs require a Language, and the Languages are a bit messed up, in that you will keep being asked to take languages...however, Languages you do choose will be applied to the test PC, even if you cannot "See" then in the Language Chooser.

At the moment, Languages chosen at Level Up are not "sticking" to the Text PC (either immediately or after relogging).
A result of this is certain PrCs, such a Dragon Disciple, that require Draconic language to unlock, are unavailable.
Valefort has suggested in the future, one may be able to manually add feats by ID. So, please be patient.

The various monsters are from the server as well, side note there is intentionally no PvP on that test server. Suggestions to improve it are welcomed, a way to give your character feats will be added.

Would it be possible to have the same items in the Jegs server as in Main? There are some items that are not apart of Main or the name you know has the wrong enchantments on it that are in Jegs. I know you can make up the items but it would be a QoL as well. Just a thought!

Yeah, maybe there is a way to copy paste the epic merchants to the test server? That would be nice, i think.

The NPCs in the main hall can be attacked. Discovered that by mistake.

Well, enchanter would be nice. Speaking of feat giver, i think it's redundant as it allows people to add themself some feats they are not normally eligible for, then forget about it and then feel cheated when they try to make their PC on live server

It saves you a reroll from scratch if you make a mistake or wish to tweak something.

Sure. Though, not having it saves us from complaints that people may write when they spoil their feat addition and things don't work the same way they expected it to work when they make it on live server.
As QC, i use to remake PCs over and over when i need to test something and i rarely use feat-adding features in order to be failsafe from "extras". It's not that hard or lengthy process.

You don't really make a compelling argument against activating an already existing NPC. You can go on rerolling forever if you wish to.

That NPC solely exists because it was copied from original Jegs module and nobody then worked out to fix all the issues like NPCs not being plot and so on.
Whether Devs decide to fix feat NPC or just plain remove it is up to devs. My point of view is: the more leveling process is close to live server, the better, as it removes the possibility for illegal builds to be created and complaints being sent.

I can see this a thing, yes. People making the mistake of a miss step in between, sending a compliant in not realizing the error is on their end.
I have done this before myself in other game servers on other games where they just keep adding stuff over the top of another, adding yet an extra layer to a system I now need to memorize out of my usual order, being habitual as I can be when I have a system and or routine that works for myself. Then realize I made some mistake along the way, due to some things throwing my usual routine off.
And many are like that. So if you just mirror the system of the live server, the less issues and mistakes will happen along the way.
EDIT TLDR: convenience is not always a necessary evil, when things can and will go wrong. So I agree.

BGTSCC JEGs should allow for immediate Resting, at will. If you are testing out a lvl 30 character with a spell book, it hurts to wait out the rest timer. Cheers.
