“Where are you, Panlos?”
“I am right here, before you, Tree Father…do you not see me?!”
“When are you, Panlos?”
“It is now, that the one of many, is before you.”
“What are you, Panlos?”
“I…am many things, Tree Father.”
“Who are you, Panlos?”
“I am…I am also…I can be…I….”
“Why are you, Panlos?”
There is a pause that continues for some time….

Talk of the Wide the other day was of a particularly attentive feline, that shadowed the steps of many a purveyor of wares throughout the day...unless the Tom was sneaking behind the back of the fishmonger, waiting for his chance to pounce upon a free morsel....

A wandering Hin by the name of Panlos Pawfoot entered Gullykin this day, eager to hear word of relations between the village and his own, Corm Orp. He nosed around, speaking with his "cousins" of no particular blood relation.
At a certain point, he gained word of the present nuisance of the lizards of giant form with a paralyzing gaze living nearby, which at times caused concern to the village. "I can reason with the beasts of the world..." boasted Panlos, soon making his way east from the village to do just that.
The reality though, was nothing he could say via his connection with Nature could reach the lizard brains, and though he tried, he could not control his own form to replicate that of the beasts themselves, perhaps finding an angle therein, to dissuade the lizards from being pests.
It was an inevitable battle, thus. But what had to be done, was done. And Panlos, unleashing his inner Wild Spirit, enlarged himself above the basilisks, and under clawed hand and foot, he culled the dry hills as best he could, in an attempt to diminish the issue.
Perhaps the villagers of Gullykin would feel a sense of relief, for a time....

"Cousin...there is fur coming out of your ears...and look!" explained the Gullykin villager, "I see whiskers on your nose!"
Panlos tried to stare down the length of his nose at this comment, and his eyes widened and then he smiled—for something he had imagined from within, now appeared to be manifesting without.
But as Panlos looked up at the villager, and saw the rising worry and fear upon said villager's face, the Pawfoot turned his visage away, and began what could only be described as trotting away towards the village walls.
Later, on this day as the full moon did crest the hills, wolven howls were heard in the hills below Durlag's Tower and the ridge of Gullykin, echoing in the canyons....

A high-pitched hoot is heard form the hilltop near and above Corm Op. Those Hins of the Great Foot Families that reside within the hamlet would know the familiar call of there returning kin. They would also likely know that such a cry was not just an notification of arrival, but that again, the Hin known as Panlos Pawfoot had cleared out the Ogres and Batari that made camp just a little too close for comfort, within the Hamlet.
The hamlet gates were open wide, and though for many Tendays he had wandered far and wide from his home, Panlos entered free of regret and hopeful, that the hamlet had seen a good fall season and the winter was kind. He stood at the entrance, and admired the consistency that was well known to him.
An old friend, always free to spend his days at the edge of the hamlet pond, was a welcome sight. And Panlos could not but oblige a moment of companionship and brotherhood of the rod...as they often called themselves, in their earlier youth.
But as the day ran on, Panlos knew that without more delay, he must present himself and be blessed by the Priestess of the Watchful Mother.
And finally, Panlos arrived at the door to his family's homestead. A long pause outside the front door, admiring the image of comfort in the form of a known home. Soon, Panlos opened a satchel and looked within, to eye the numerous gifts he had brought along to enrich his kin in kindness.
One could never enter a home of one of the many Great Foot Families without gifts.....

Stumbling upon a camp high up in the mountains toward Amn, Panlos pauses to observe and openly state: "Just what is going on here?!?"

As an owlbear peers over the ledge high above the Nashkel Mines, it spies something of peculiar sights and interest—the creature lets outs a high-tone chirp!

Far, far below ground...the Halfling Panlos raises his hand before his face, attempting to shield the heat that sizzles from off the flowing lava river—a searing heat presses hard against his being, forcing him back into the cave system that eventually returns to the surface world.
