Traegan was given birth by a wood elf woman named Lyn'Saera in a small elven village, tucked away under the boughs of Cormanthyr. She gave birth to two sons. Aeric and Traegan. As the brothers were born into the world, their mother's secret came suddenly into the light. Her love for a human hunter from Scardale, told to all, as the two half-elven brothers drew their first breaths.
Taken in by the village, the two boys would grow through their youngest years with their mother. Always in trouble. Forever learning lessons the hard way. They would take up their first bows as they learned to walk. Carrying their love of archery through to their teenage years. It is here that they truly shine. Taken under the wing of their uncle, a spell archer, they studied and learned how to enchant their arrows with elven magic.
Their Father, even though he was despised by the village, would come to visit the boys when he could. Bringing them gifts of furs and other tools used for woodland longevity. He would take them on short hunts from time to time, showing them how to track game and then process it once taken down. Aeric enjoyed their time with their father more than Traegan. One feeling a closer connection with the elves, the other stronger with their human side.
As time went on, Aeric spent more and more time with their father, while Traegan stayed in the village working with the scouts. This went on for years, until one day a man rose to power in the Dalelands. Lashan Aumersair rallied the men of the Dales to gather under his banner to unite them all. While some stood against this man, their father wasn't one of them. He rallied under the banner of Lashan and asked his sons to do the same. Not wanting to disappoint their father, they did as he asked. They followed their father into war.
As Lashan's armies were defeated, the boys and their father made way back to Scardale, back to their mother's village. It was then that they received word that the village was sacked by Lashan's army. Burned to the ground, only ash remained. While this shook the sons, it broke their father. His love for Lyn'Saera as strong that day as the day they had met, it shattered his soul to know he fought for the side that had taken his love from the world.
The brothers watched as their father spiraled out of control. Drinking and fighting were a common occurrence, as well as bailing their father out of the holding cell. It's when he turned to banditry that the brothers had enough. They took what little they had and made for the Coast. Leaving their father to what ever fate awaits him.

Mane Attraction is one of four horses gifted to the Whitewood Vanguard by Mayor Gideon after the company saved the small mountain village from being overrun by trolls. The painted mare was assigned to Traegan Daershun for training of mounted archery and skirmish tactics. Her name was given to her after a vote was taken among the Vanguard. Micar'Mizzrym suggesting the name.
The relationship between the half-elf and horse is new and unexplored as of yet. Simple rides and scouting missions, while they learn of each other.
Time will tell what becomes of this partnership...
