For an immaterial, supposedly weightless moon beam it sure weighs a lot. 4 pounds to be exact. Now someone might say it's not a lot but it is compared to nothing and it can just be the extra weight to tip you over the limit.
Could it have weight reduction?
Now, maybe this is a decision that has been made and by design. Just pointing it out since it is supposed to be weightless and even the spell description says immaterial.

Hi, thanks for reporting. I've reduced the weight of this and Flame Blade as much as I could.
What we see depends mainly on what we look for
