Ultra Light Armor

I am sure this was shot down ten years ago or so, but could heavy or medium armor that weighs less than 10 pounds be considered light armor? Or at least drop the category by 1, heavy becomes medium, medium becomes light, etc. The Dexterity bonus would not change, so Mithral would still remain better. I am mostly thinking of heavy armor for Druids and medium armor for Bards. Thanks

Druids can already wear heavy armour (provided they have heavy armour proficiency, and it isn't metal [dragon scale full plate is perfectly fine!]. Except druids of Mielikki - they can use metal lorewise.). Bards can use medium armour with the battle dancer feat.

Indeed, but, alas, it is the ultra-light aspect of the magical, reduced-weight armor that might negate the need for such a feat, in the same way Mithral allows.

Battle Dancer feat doesn’t exist on BGTSCC.
It is
Battle Caster that is meant.

Heavy armors with weight reduction are still considered ''heavy'', weight reduction is therefore a magical property and not a different material (such as mithril could be).

I do understand, and I expected this answer. I just get attached to nice armor, or nice items in general (especially after they have been used for a while), and I hate to see them go to waste in favor of the many advantages of Mithral. So when armor weighs 1.5 or 2.5 or 5 or even 8 pounds, one might think that a druid should be able to move at a faster rate using it (maybe heavy functioning like medium), or a Bard should be able to cast spells freely in it (medium functioning light light), without needing to use a feat.

The metal restriction on Druids has nothing to do with the encumberance of the material, but the fact that part of the Druidic oath is that they are prohibited to wear metal armor or use metal shields.
Whether it is easy or difficult to move in is irrelevant.
Druids are proficient with light and medium armor but are prohibited from wearing metal armor; thus, they may wear only padded, leather, or hide armor. (A druid may also wear wooden armor that has been altered by the ironwood spell so that it functions as though it were steel. See the ironwood spell description) Druids are proficient with shields (except tower shields) but must use only wooden ones.
A druid who wears prohibited armor or carries a prohibited shield is unable to cast druid spells or use any of her supernatural or spell-like class abilities while doing so and for 24 hours thereafter.

So in theory a mage cast a spell on heavy metal making it lighter, so it would still be the metal that causes a druid problems. Thanks
