Land Ho Feedback

Unread post by artemitavik »

This map too is super fun. The drowning damage/mechanic might work a little better here IMO than on Wagons Ho. Again, I didn't explore the whole thing but the merchants you can buy stuff from and then sell back at the Gate does give a net profit, so that's neat. As are the random chance pirate encounters.

not sure what the key out of the chest is supposed to open, couldn't find anything.

The chest floating in the water you have to swim out to was a nice touch.

My major criticism would be that the cave creatures might be a bit too much. I understand it's supposed to be epic-level hard and all that, but +58 AB with 17 or more DR and enough HP that when I had done about 80 there was barely any movement on the enemy HP bar might be a TAD too much, even for a group. Especially since these were the "basic" mobs that came in groups and not a single boss mob.

there are some GREAT RP areas in there... yeah, thanks for reminding me to say that. Island spots with benches and stuff.

i like this area
the challenge is super nice

just that its almost the same as White Dragon, you go there 100 times and maybe 1 or 2 times you get decent epic.
so basically in a good party, we are using less consumables and worth the trip. (i love partying :party )

with fewer team mates party, not really worth it.(kinda force you to gather good team mates partying if you dont want to lose lots of gold, or in certain cases, dies.)

Oh, the area is cool, and I don't mind it being hard. The issue I have is that the standard mobs appear to have beyond most boss-mobs stats, which I find personally inappropriate. Hence the thought. The rest of the area is fantastic.

I don't remember the standard encounter mobs in the White Dragon area running +58 AB with 17+DR and 600+ (what I estimate given the amount of damage I did and how little the HP bar move) HP. That's a bit much IMO.

its not 58, its 54. after they knockdown you, they get extra +4 AB(so translates to 58)
and no boss in the area, so they are overall strong, but weaker than white dragon which is 62 AB, 20 adamantine DR, and physical DR.
you cant KD White Dragon but you can KD the Worg there.

I was not knocked down, and they were rolling +58, but that's not the point.

The point is they are non-boss mobs that come in groups and have TopTier Boss Mob stats. It is too much. You're throwing out "they're not as powerful as the White Dragon" but they are pretty damn close, and while I don't have an issue with them being tough, the basic mob being as tough or nearly as tough as some of the top-level boss mobs in the game is extreme and should be looked at.

I should add, were these the stats of boss-mobs for the area, I'd have zero issues, but they're not, they are soldier mobs/mooks.
