If yes, then your sword doesn't work simply because they are not evil. Monsters don't necessarily need to be evil to fight PC or others.
Agreed, that'd sound logical. Though, i've no idea was it a builder's mistake or intended alignment change. Even within same tribe, creatures don't necessarily share same alignment. Honestly, i'd say it's strange lizardfolk have their alignment as evil in first place. From PnP sources, lizardfolk are usually neutral. Could be either, I can see both ways honestly but I understood what Lock was getting at.
