Can the Combat Ability Queue be fixed?

I am sure we've all experienced the following scenario at some point.
Activate an ability that goes on the Combat Ability Queue, only for it to not trigger, and subsequently be removed from the queue as soon as the next round starts.
This issue seems more prevalent with attack-based abilities (Disarm, Knockdown, etc), rather than spells and spell-like abilities.

Is this an issue that can be fixed so that abilities queued up actually happen, and don't just disappear into the aether?

Yeah, fixing this would be great. It has been a problem since forever.

The only reason why I can come up with, after years of "dealing" with the issue—and playing a build that Feints, yes, a major issue!—is that during combat, the Engine resets the combat queue, or resets the Round per se, and then drops any combat related Feat (ability) from the queue.

Sure is an annoying thing!

If the Combat Engine did that, then it should affect spells too, which it doesn't IIRC.

Only attack-related feats seem to be affected.

Many attack-related feats actually substitute into the first flurry of the next round, which is different from how spells work.
Which, likely, also has something to do with why the action disappears. I have seen Knockdown disappear from my queue but still fire (in addition to any other attacks that round), as well as disappear but not fire.
If some trigger replaced the queued full-round-attack action, I could see why the modified flurry would be dropped.
