Longsword scarcity
Why is it that longswords, in my humble experience at least, almost never drop in loot? Kukris and bastard swords, staves and arrow in abundance, but I have never found a decent longsword in loot. Perhaps that could explain why longswords are rare at Mudds too?

Re: Longsword scarcity
Because Epic Longsword with Vampiric Regen +2 is super easy to be bought at Epic Shop. (Even Alchemical Silver ones for UD mobs)

Anecdotal/coincidence in observation. Longswords have the same chance to drop as any other kind of weapon in RIG (random item generator).Styrbjorn wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 3:18 pm Why is it that longswords, in my humble experience at least, almost never drop in loot? Is there a shop named Epic Shop? Would it be cheating to ask where it is?

Re: Longsword scarcity
There are technically 2: one from turban-guy in The Wide (East gate BG) and one at the base of the castle in FAI.
Both sell epic items, though the latter focuses primarily on more exotic stuff. Probably check BG first.

The one in Eastern Baldurs Gate, the northwest corner. There's a big marketplace there, though I forgot the exact name of the merchant. He sells a few epic Longswords. Then you have both the Elven cities that have a single merchant near their entrance/blacksmith that sell the 2 other epic ones.
