There wouldn't be a day where you would see the man in anything Raggy.

Some of his Tiefling Characteristics include a long tail which he decorated the base of the spade with some silver bangles, Two large horns, His canines are pointed more than that a humans would be and his top two would home bright emeralds embedded into golden teeth.
His day to day life would not be complete without his numerous rings and necklaces that he wears, Made from different metals and gems.

Personality

Full of mischief and Jestful come-backs, Re'Drix is an easily to get on with individual and will happily strike conversation with someone confidently enough, The way he walks and talks would make it apparent enough that this Tiefling was comfortable in his own skin.

A loyal individual to those who he would consider friends, And even more loyal to those he considers family - If Re'Drix trusts you with his life, He would sure enough risk his for yours. He'd look out for everyone that he deems worthy of his time and helps them out however way he can in his ability.

But he is keeping a side of him bottled up, The cheerful and confident side of his is kept on show as much as he can but after so long things get to him and causes him to act strange.

Beliefs and Motives
The Thorned Rose

From a young age, Re'Drix was a determined individual and would often end up hurting himself to achieve his goals, Since birth he never had a family name but instead was granted the Surname of 'Thorn' - Something which he stood by all of his years and sees it as a way of life and will often explain that to get what you want, To reach that blissful end you need to go through trials of pain and suffering - The Thorns of a Rose.

The Sword Coast

Being brought up a thief and lockpick, Re'Drix's life changed when he moved to Luskan from there he took great fondness to sailing and over the years it's always been his dream to be known as a high captain aswell as a notable captain throughout the sword coast, Name ringing bells in taverns up and down in taverns and docks as a cunning and brave captain, Aswell as a wealthy one.

How he gets that title will only be told by time.

Background

Hidden: show
Being born into the beggars nest of NeverWinter, He was never well off or wealthy and took to thieving to get himself through each and everyday.
He was part of a small group of Tieflings that were in the same predicament as he was and they all watched out for each-other as they roamed the streets picking the pockets of wealthier individuals and stealing from the few stalls in the market district of the city.. Getting himself in trouble with the city gaurds a few times and winding himself up in jail over a week or two wasn't uncommon for the youthful tiefling but after so long and collecting an amount of gold he chartered to Luskan which he was lead to believe it was somewhere that he could fit in, Hearing stories of rough taverns, All the rougher individuals and not to mention the money.

Upon moving to City of Sails, He took a turn from thieving and began work as a dock hand and from there it lead to a deckhand on countless amounts of ships making their way up and down the coast - This gave the man a different outlook on life, Growing confident and knowledgeable of the sea and sailing he decided that this was his life.. He wanted to be a captain of his very own ship, Working under an old man who owned a ship called "The Copper Talon" - Being mentored by the man over the years and collecting gold through his shares of the goods sold, The old man had retired and left the rights of the ship in the hands of Re'Drix and from there he was pronounced "Captain Thorn of The Copper Talon" - A ship for hire to transport goods and passengers to the dock cities throughout the sword coast.

Little is known about the mans activities on the seas but words would spread throughout taverns of the mans ship being one to intervene with piracy throughout the waters, whether or not he took the spoils for himself or returned them is unknown.

Was he a pirate? Did he combat Piracy?

Adventures

The Cavern of Riches.

It was an early morning of the first day of Kythorn, Re'Drix had took to adventuring deep into the ruins just by the River of Chionthar, Fighting through the waves of Kobolds, Scowering the loot, Picking of the locks of the various chests and stuff whatever booty he could plunder. His focus would be sharp, The grip on his fashioned rapier tight, The Tiefling pupils glowing in the dark of the hallways until one room stuck out to him, One very chest looking oh so loot filled than the rest.

He'd wander over, Pulling out his tools of the trade and starts jiggling the pick inside keyhole until a deep vulgur grumbling comes from inside, Re'Drix never encountered something like this before - Before his very eyes the chest burst open, Rows of sharp thangs and a long tongue enrolled out from the chest - A Mimic! - Before his very eyes he had no choice but to swing at the thing - Slashing the elongated tongue, Kicking it to the side before plunging the rapier of his into the mimic's "Mouth" and the screetching and growling stopped, The still intact portion of the tongue drops down lifelessly.
Reaching a free hand deep into the wet saliva covered inners of the chest and looting whatever the strange chest contained.. Waving it around to rid it of the gunk covering it and stuffs it into his satchel.
Image
Moving on from the encounter, The hallways and caverns progress to darken as he journeys deeper into the ruins homing kobolds and bladelings, By the dozens and dozens until he is met with a large cavern, leaking from the roof of water, Centrepieced by a strange glowing yellow pit filled with murky water..

*THUD THUD SNARL*

Upon scanning the room it would become evident what was making a large Wyrmling, scales glowing like his back was encrusted in emeralds, the wingspan the size ship sails, the forked tongue flicking away as it stomped over - There was only one thing to do if Re'Drix didn't want to become dragon chow, Swing that blade, Poking and jabbing to attempt to find it's weakness.. A soft piece of flesh.. a missing scale in which would penetrate its leathery hide.. The fought progressed on, A few bladelings decided to join in, Blades swinging all around, The sharp noises of metal clanging echoed the chamber as a lucky lunge done the wyvern a fatal blow, Plunging straight into it's chest, his grumbling roar died down and the best lay defeated and the bladelings shortly after.

Image

Soon after catching his breath from the fight of his most valiant since his arrival to the is les, He'd do another quick scan of the room ensuring no more foes lurked in the shadows, Searching the various barrels and chests scattered around the wyrmlings reverie, there was one room which held all the fortunes he could as for to get him situated in his early days.. A small room littered with golds, goblets, gems, The whole glory any sailors eyes wishes to rest their eyes on.. Without a moment to spare this swashbuckler with nothing but the first for gold would seath his rapier and gather up as much as he could into his pockets and satchels until he could barely walk! And with that, Blood shed and sweat dripping from his head, he'd make his way out of the lower levels and as per usual he'd finish up his night headed to The Broken Goblet.

The Barkeeps Suggestion

Anyone that is everyone knows this simple fact of life, If you want to find an adventure, The barkeep is the best person to go to!

"Hey Red, You been east o' the wyrms crossing yet? - Go there and find a house - I think you'll love it"

And east of the Wyrms Crossing he went, Packing whatever essentials was needed - Having himself dressed in the morning ready to set off on with a curious mind as to what was in store of this house.
From the docks, Through the eastern part of the city and through the farmlands - He made his way in the direction that Sel has lead him from the conversration that night and by truthful words he encounted a small house which looked ordinary enough until noticing a strange entrance etched into the wall.

Making his way through the passage only to find himself in some sort of cave system which had a strange life about it, There was ofcourse the usual moss and what not along the walls, but something stuck out.

Bushes and small trees that moved!

Image

As time went by and the TIefling ventured deeper in, The bushes and trees had got larger, IF they never moved you would never have thought it, only to just think "Wow there is an eco system down here" - But no, These shrubs and human sized tree saplings were armed, Not with metal blades or projectiles, Their branches were sharp, Their thorns sharper. The fights carried on throughout the tunnel system until he was met with an addition to the collection of foes in this dungeon, The usual pesky Kobolds. Swiftly dealt with he'd move on.

Image

It wasn't until he fought past the lively trees, Shrubs and annoying Kobolds - He came to the end of the cave.. Another entrance lead to a passage which echoed droplets of water from the humid roof of this cavern with a portion of it underwater, It was time for this sailor to get his boots wet.
And wet they did get, Hells everything upto his thighs got wet.
Wading through the waters that could send a halfling to a demise with a lung full of water he'd be met by the crunching of skeleton bones, the reanimated form of a fleshless form - Three of them, all bearing peers and chainmail armour - Started to rush towards him.

But what reanimated these skeletons? Who is behind giving the lives to these boney figures - Behind them cackling in the distance, a womans form, but it was not that of a sunkissed beauty, No. This woman was made of wood with scribing glowing in a green all up her woody appendages. The first Dryad that Red has ever laid his eyes on.

Image

Flailing his long rapier and bashing his shield agaisnt the foes, The skeletons weren't all that of an issue- Simply litte nuddge of one of their connecting parts would have caused them to crumble down to the floor in a big pile of bones but the dryad was a different story, Red never had any fire of the sorts and a rapier is no slicing weapon so the fight went for a good few moments until he had managed to weaken the wooden form and she had fallen into the waters.

"Kill The Pirate!"

Some would often think pirate and automatically assume that they are the type to kill and steal, heartless souls that care only for their gold and what benefits them, But what people don't seem to realise is that like every other.. Line of work, There is a community involved amongst pirates, Thieves, Cut-Throats, Beggers and ruffians - The only difference between a pirate and a noble is they will steal your wealth and make sure you know about it, Their names will perk ears in every tavern along the coast, Turn every gaurdsman that isn't on their payroll on high alert, Each noble woman to turn up their nose.. Unless that is the dream for them to be swooned by a sea faring nuisance.

But besides all the bad mouthing and hatred amongst the lot, There is that community, That sence of belonging, That call for the sea and thirst for riches that brings them together.

Mirtul 21st 1351

"Welcome to Luskan Cap'n Thorn."
"Thank yeh lad, 'ere be fifty gol' pieces - Make sure she be all free o' damage an' restocked aye?
It'n be fine night and my throat thirsts for rum lad."
"And nae finer night to celebrate!"

Re'Drix and his crew of men, Wandered through the foggy streets of Luskan till he was met with the Tavern called "The Cutlass" which was a frequent stop for the fresh crew that the tiefling had captained, Gathering a bit of a social circle within the place which was filled with other pirates, wenches, rough and tough bruisers, Making his way to the bar followed by five or so of his men and began ordering drinks and rounds for friendly faces which had already resided before his entrance.

Celebratory cheers could be heard throughout tavern as patrons who was familiar with the Tiefling, Raised their tankards and goblets to the man and his crew, One man with an instrument slung on his back hopped up and drew attention to the man of whom had his twenty first birthday that night!

Image
"A Happy Birthday ta' Mister Thorn! Be the lad survived ta' twenty one!"

The attention brought to the man would cause him to shake his head and laugh but none the less raise his tankard to the man with a smile and a few words spoken.

"May our lungs stay empty of water, and our tankards full of rum!"

After the celebrations had been made the tavern died down into its natural wild banter and voices echoed through the main hall, sploshing of drinks and banging of tables by rowdy gamblers gave the tavern a nice ambience whilst Re'Drix and his crew sat around a fairly decent sized table - Surrounded by those that he trusted of his crew and high spirits of the fellow patrons the man had nothing to worry about until one man that had been as silent as the dead sat in the corner looked over.

After a few moments he had stood - Cowl covering most of his face as the rest was dirty robes, Made his way over to the table and with a curious eye for the man Re'Drix would tilt his head after looking to his fellow crew mates, Giving them a soft nod his firstmate and quartermaster would stand and look the man up and down from the few feet distance he stood, The shady figure reached into his ragged appearance and pull out a small dagger and proceeded to throw it between the two men and aim for the captains head.

"Kill the Pirate"

The man muttered as the blade was flung almost taking right to Re'Drix's head he moved slightly and the blade caught a feather that was pinned to the black tricorn on his head.

"You really are foolish you know that? Do you bloody know where'n yeh be lad?"
"Pirate Scum!"

With that being said, a few of the crewmates would land a few blows at the hooded man and grabbing him by the arms, dragging him out of the tavern into the dark of night and kicking him to the gutter followed by a foul spit hued by the color of rum and the smell to follow.. Accompanied by a good few kicks to the ribs by the crewmans leather clad feet.

Returning to the tavern after leaving the man that had tried to take out the man on the very day he was celebrating his birthdate on the wet dirty floor coughing up his guts after being winded by the two men, They sit back down and the laughter and banter would resume, It wasn't a rare occasion a drunkard or foolish individual was stripped from the cutlass and left on the side of the street.

"How about a sing-song bard! Play us something we can all sing to! - A hunna gold if a few folk sing! Two if you get the whole bleemin' tavern!"
And with that, The bard took to his lute and started plucking a tune, a tune in which every person known to exist knew, The bard looked over at Re'Drix with a playful grin on his lips and the song started to play, The patron started to sing.
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday Dear (name)
Happy Birthday to You.

From good friends and true,
From old friends and new,
May good luck go with you,
And happiness too.

The Tiefling would just shake his head and laugh, letting the song play out before shouting back with a wide smile on his face.

"A shanty you damned fool!"
The bard would laugh and start playing a song and between lines he'd bellow over.

"You owe me two hunna' gold mister Thorn!"

Regardless of how you paint the word of piracy, At the end of the day they are all out to just make gold, conjure friendships, alliances, gain people who they can trust and live life to the fullest.
