NwN1 Icons and VFX
Would it be a labouriously gargantuan task to import spell icons from NwN1 into NwN2, along with that game's way better spell VFX? It probably would, at least the latter, but let's hear it from those who know.

Not really doable for vfx, different systems. Probably not doable for the spell icons (as there might be different sizes). Even if so, I do not think NWN1's icons are better than NWN2's, and it's a completely different style and would clash with every other ability (not to mention every spell that doesn't have a corresponding NWN1 icon, as we have many custom spells with custom icons).

Icons : Yes as resizing and applying names based on their 2da associations is something easily done, but it's a downgrade of quality (two colors for most) from what BGTSCC has now.
VFX : Yes, there is an Aurora frame stage export and Electron (granny3d) import path, but the textures under Aurora (NWN1) often appears as a hot mess unless AI upscaled, and their size is disproportionate, tedious work for every effect that isn't exactly better either. 3D models in the represented effects are extremely low poly (keep in mind that NWN's content was being made in the late 1990s). Timestop's is probably the only one worth efforting to port. Maybe even the DM CowsFromHell for Zanniej's logins.

That is actually the part of spell VFX which I had in mind, but I expressed myself poorly. Most, if not all, of them look way better in NwN1, especially that for magic missile and the missile storms. I didn't mean things like the barkskin reskin that you get etc. In nwn2 they look like rubbish and on BG they look a little worse yet due to those weird red line effects you get.
